I also heard that black is suppose to be faster and doesn’t soften too much compared to yellow. But if black doesn’t soften too much wouldn’t that be slower compared to the yellow?
black does soften up, but only last 2 weeks and if you want, can reboost
I think how "soft" you want is all relative to preference

I need to check them so I ordered 2 Nationals (Black and Yellow) and 3rd bottle of Kailin, we will see what it brings :)
Not sure if I'm so sensitive to catch the difference :p for sure I will not perform test side by side, just to use one, and when the effect disappeared, will take a new rubber and try another booster, trying to notice the difference if any :p

i know many using black with blue sponge.
tension topsheet - are you referring to non Chinese rubbers? I wouldn't put black on any non DHS product to be honest
I actually did mean DHS H3. From what I read is that the black version doesnt soften the sponge as much as the yellow and white versions do.

So they claimed that the white version is meant for blue sponge, yellow is meant for orange sponge, and that the softening of the sponge with these versions is permanent.

The black version is supposedly better for reboosting because it doesnt soften the sponge as much after it has been permanently softened, but it does get some tension in the topsheet.

But like I said, I dont know if this information is anywhere near thrustworthly, so it might be a bunch of bollocks. I believe it was posted somewhere in the YouTube comments, but I cant find what video it was.

I havent used black myself, only white. So I wouldnt know the difference.

I have seen a video from the pongprofessor testing various boosters and he said in the results that the effecct felt very weak and minimal;

BUT its important to note that he used it on the non-NEO commercial verrsion, not blue sponge;

I quote from the video: "I applied 1 thin layer of the booster, approx ~2 grams directly on the sponge and allowed it to fully absorb."
thank you.
hm... that isn't enough, so I guess the test result is really not going to be helpful for many people, even if they had using commercial only.

I would say, the least one should do is to follow the instructions on the label.

not sure whey they gave seamoon 40 mins and some brands 8 hours+
isn't that unfair, haha

I'm pretty sure in this video he's trying to create a fair test by using the same amount of booster on each rubber, 2 grams. Wait to absorb to test how long it takes. Then repeat with another 2g layer.

What he doesn't discuss in the video as far as I remember, is that different boosters will surely have different effects using the same amount of booster due to varying effectiveness. Which is I think is a misleading oversight.

This is the one I was referring to that stated Haifu National Yellow was better but since he only used one layer only then it’s not really a fair test.

I would like to see them test these boosters on a H3 41 degree provincial blue sponge and H3 37/38 degree provincial orange sponge with either 2-3 layers depending on hardness. I assume 37/38 degrees would need 2 layers and 41 degrees would need 3 layers

I've been inspired by this thread and now trying to (re)boost the crap out of one of my commercial sheets. I think I may have been boosting too lightly.
First layer is on - let's find out how many it takes to get some serious curling rather than a mini dome.

@Tony's Table Tennis do you have experiences with all the Haifu national versions (and Kailin) to share how they are different?

Which last longer? Which makes most speed/spin increase? Which has softens the sponge most? Etc.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you share.

Do you know what pros use to boost Dignics? Or do they at all or do they get special BTY rubbers?

Thank you
I know some use seamoon.
we mostly use Chinese boosters
I don't really ask each of them what they use to boost, since it is a secret, so none of them boost, I don't know you talking about, what i said was my dream :)

The way i understand rubber hardness, the harder a rubber, the more potential for higher speed and MORE spin. however, you really have to engage the rubber with a lot of strength. if you are lacking power, then your shot with the harder rubber wont produce. With a softer rubber, its easier to get more spin, but the harder rubber has much more potential.

@Tony's Table Tennis

Not sure if you know the answer to this but since you have asked players whether they boost their rubbers or not.

When the players are not at home but away do they usually feel comfortable boosting their rubbers when not at home. I’m assuming when they are playing top leagues such as Chinese TT Super League etc or going on WTT tournaments they would have their own hotel rooms so they could boost their rubbers without anyone finding out but with some of the leagues in USA & Europe I think someone mentioned that they usually rent a house and in that situation it would be hard to boost their rubbers without anyone finding out so in that situation do they just boost their rubbers without caring if their teammates/coaches find out. The only thing I would be worried about is teammates/coaches taking pictures of them boosting then posting it online or letting the whole world know that player boosts their rubbers which would put them on the ITTF radar.
