Well, I sometimes play with the Omega 7 China Guang. And its also very similar to D09c.

So in the end, I'm still not sure if 8 is an upgrade over 7 or not.
I think it plays a bit softer and has this feeling that Omega 8 series brought ... I would say it has much more crisp feeling or better said, Omega 7 was a bit more muted. not a big margin, though ...

the thing that baffles me is - what is the difference between Omega and J&H series? just weight?

How does O8c compare to D09c ? I am playing O8c at the moment and love it but the durability kinda sucks. Thinking about switching to D09c but I am not sure.
I actually like Omega 8 China more than D09C except the durability. TO me, it seems that O8C offers more control for short ball and better support for big swing. It has more feels than D09C. The durability is not that good. I used it for about a month (60 hours?) on Alx pro and it shows quite some wear already. But the spin capability still remains strong at the moment. Maybe I can still use it for another 40 hours?

My O8C also looks quite worn after only 20 hours. Most of the grippy feel of the new rubber is already gone. As you said, you can still spin the ball, but I have less feel for how much spin I'm actually generating.

So currently I'm testing the new Donic Bluegrip J2 in parallel. So far a similar feel, but more spin than O8C.

I heard that the durability of J2 is worse. C2 has a similar feeling to O8C, but it is on a different blade. SO I can't say more about it. But I think both O8C and C2 are different from D09C. O8C has carbon in it, so maybe a LoKi Asia or Europe is similar to it?

First practice with the O8C. I accidentally hit the racket on the table. What a shame.

About the O8C, it is a bit heavy. 52g on the Harimoto ALC. I used on Forehand. Backhand is K3 FX.

The sponge is hard, but the top sheet is soft. It is not that fast. It is slower than the K3, but it is faster than the Vega Pro H, Rakza Z, K3 FX. I found the rubber to be well controlled, I was able to put a lot of ball on the table, even when hitting it hard. I will use it for more practice sessions to get a more detailed opinion. First impressions were good for my game.
What’s the rubber with the pink sponge?

I have a question about Omega 8 rubbers for Xiom ALX 36.5.

On my Xiom HAL 2nd gen I use Xiom J&H X47,5 on FH and on the standard Xiom ANJ TMXi there's Xiom Vega Pro H on FH. Both blades have Xiom Vega Korea on BH.

This time I'm thinking of placing an order with tt-japan.net and their pricing is a bit different compared to my regular shop Tabletennis11. At tt-japan.net Xiom Omega VIII Hybrid is actually cheaper than J&H X47,5, 36 € vs 40 €, so I'm tempted to try that one out. Or do you think it will be too fast (or hard?) for me considering the combinations I'm used to?

So of these three rubbers, which should I choose for FH on ALX 36.5: Omega VIII Hybrid, J&H X47,5 or Vega Pro H?

How would you rate these three rubbers for speed and control? Is the Omega VIII Hybrid a too big step for me to take?

no, not really. It'll be softer than your DF 218

Actually, my main blade right now is Xiom HAL with Xiom J&H X47,5 on FH and Vega Korea on BH.

Will it be a smooth transfer if I want to try the ALX 36.5 with Omega VIII Hybrid on FH, Omega VIII Euro on BH?
Yes, I think it will be smooth enough.

I bought Guang on special. It’s hardly tacky, worse than 09C. The topsheet struggles to “grab” the ball as compared to Vega China, 09C and J&H 52.5. Guang is a heavy speed monster. I don’t use it anymore.

From the video it looks like O8 China behaves similarly to the H&J C series. I was hoping an upgrade from Vega China.
Vega China Plus is a good upgrade over Vega China but is a CDM product though I believe.
