Any thoughts on Stiga DNA Pro series?

Hi all,

I am curious in Stiga Dna Pro rubber series. I havent EJ in a while and not looking for a big change.

I mainly ask cuz DNA Pro series only cost 27€ atm on Aliexpress. I know Mantra Pro (23€) is also a very good rubber but it has less grip than ESN.

My current rubber on backhand is omega 7 pro, a rubber which I have bought about 6-7 times at this point (lasts a me about 3 months). O7P cost around 47€, therefore would like to know if DNA Pro M is a solid replacement? Looking to safe a few bucks but dont want to miss out on the great qualities of O7P

I'm curious as well about DNA. I do agree with you, love the Mantra Pro but sometimes i feel it lacks that initial bite. I've been using the Xiom Vega Korea and i feel thats similar to the Mantra Pro M.

DNA Pro was a fine series. Grip was good, I don't think it was factory boosted. Durability was decent. 4 months, it was good, and after that, it was still playable.

It depends on how long you are planning to switch. Because it has been somehow discontinued, I couldn´t get it 3 years ago, so I suppose it is some stock and thus the price. It was not that cheap back then.

Now there is DNA platinum, and again the question is, for how long, since the new Stiga Helix came out.

Though the price is nice, and if you buy more sheets, it could be alright. The only thing I would be worried about is how long the rubber has been sitting and if it not affected its characteristics.

What do you guys think about DNA hybrid in H hardness?

I can only have some thoughts about this, as I have never had it. Though I suppose it would not be that different in comparison to other hybrids. Good grip, physically demanding, good on short balls over the table, not so forgiving, and a need for right positioning, thus faster legs. I think only 2,2 mm sponge, so not that much feeling, need for a faster blade to generate speed. Excellent in counterspin game, but not so dynamic in standard rallies. Durability, I read somewhere, should be in the middle range, depending on the frequency of playing, 2 months of good characteristics.

The fact is, one needs to try it oneself. I would personally suffer in comparison to standard non-hybrid rubber. I played with a hybrid whose durability declined after a short time, and switching back to standard rubber, the contrast in liveliness was like night and day.

Also, considering the price, it is too high to just try.
