I've been using Dragon Power 57,5 on forehand for a few months now. I like it a lot on my Viscaria.
My favourite rubber is DHS Skyline II (TG2) but it's a bit cumbersome to buy in national/provincial versions and then the boost. So, I've tried a lot of hybrid rubbers. In chronological order below are the one's I've used, and why I'm not using them anymore.
- Dignics 09c - too high throw. It's not my technique to have such a closed angle. It's great, but the throw is killing me.
- Tibhar Hybrid K3 - too fast. Really fast
- Dragon Grip - Great rubber. A bit weak perhaps, but I can play with it.
- Nittaku PK 50 - A bit of a better version of Dragon Grip. Lovely top sheet, fast and great spin.
I've settled on the Dragon Power now. Why? It's that lower throw, "ping" sound when hitting that is a bit closer to Skyline II than any other and all the gears that are available. From really soft receives to full out power - it's there!
It's quite a peculiar rubber, and probably not suited to everyone, but it has its niche. The durability is so-so, after 2-3 months of 3x weekly, it's time to replace.

Unfortunately for one reason or another I haven't been able to play. I will be playing tomorrow. I have it as the forehand rubber on my Ebenholz VII, which I put my old sheet of Dragon Grip on before it totally died, but I was surprisingly pleased with the results. The rubber only comes in 2.15mm, and weighed 76g uncut (I can't remember if that was with or without the plastic sheet attached).
how is durability

My thoughts on Dragon Power 55 on the BH of my new ZJK ALC and comparison to 09c.

-Speed: Pretty fast, just a bit faster than 09c. Not a wild difference but pretty noticeable.
-Spin: Again, just a bit less spin than 09c but still noticeable.
-Control is good with this rubber in short game, to my feeling almost equal with 09c
-The throw angle is just a bit lower than 09c which is good because I like something in between a 09c and D05 throw angle for my BH.
-Still getting used to it on BH as I’ve been so used to 09c but looks good so far, prolly the best 09c alternative I tried.
-Loops are great but not as deadly as 09c
-Blocking is much better with this than with 09c
-Pushes are spinny but can be a bit challenging to keep short
-Not as tacky as 09c, not a big difference but I can’t pick up a ball with DP55 but I can for a fraction of a second with 09c.

I’ve only had one real practice with it but these are my initial thoughts and I’ll update as i play with it. This will be my new BH rubber now cuz I’m a broke uni student and i can’t pay outrageous 09c prices anymore (I can get DP55 for like $35 Cad or less compared to $90 cad 09c)

Thanks for the detailed comparisons. Am assuming you played all these unboosted?

One note I’d like to make. I play almost everyday for 3-5 hours a day. I can feel the durability already starting to slip a bit. That is a bit disappointing but I can’t really complain for a $35 rubber tbh

How long have you been playing it? Whats the thickness of the sponge?
I played it for about a month or two before I switched back to 09c. It still played ok, but definitely not as good as before, while with 09c still played super well at the same amount of time played. Thickness was 2.15mm

I know you ave answered before, but how the arc of the 09c feels again coming from the Dragon Power? Too pronounced?

I like the arc of 09c more than Dragon Power. It’s high but comfortable. But I think the best arc rubber for me would be N55, which is something in between 09c and D05
