If you don't mind me asking - This means you're changing rubber every couple of weeks :
1. Why changing so much?
2. Can you even get used to a new rubber so fast?
3. what are the best and worst you tried in your opinon?
Im using the G1 (FH) and C1 (BH) combo and find them to be very easy to use, fun to play with, not limiting my game in any aspect and allow me to improve at a good rate. And that's basically what I want from my Rubbers.
Testing does not mean changing. On my Backhand, I used, in competition, 5 rubbers. Here's the story :
- Played TT since 1993
- Stopped training in 2000
- Stopped playing in 2010
- Resumed playing in 2023
I resumed with a very similar racquet from what I was playing with in 2010, all wood blade, ESN very soft rubbers. I was very less strong than 13 years before, but I am now way more into sport than I was younger. Thus, I improved a lot the last 2 years, my game changed a lot, and my needs changed too. I sticked 6 months to the first racquet. Then I wanted to test things and discovered AliExpress thanks to my brother. I tested chinese rubbers, and harder ESN rubbers. So I tested a lot, but played only a few in competition. On the BH, in the order :
- Gewo EL Pro 38° : 6 months
- Gewo Superselect 48° : 9 months
- Stiga Mantra Pro M : only once
- Gewo Codexx 52° : 2 months
- Loki Telson 100 : 6 months
Defining a favorite is difficult. The most efficient for me now is the Telson 100 boosted. But it's not the most pleasing one. I think that the most pleasing is the Gewo Superselect, I loved it's feeling. And there were no bad rubbers really. In spite of its great reputation, Fastarc G1 is the one I had the most difficulty with. It's really super fast, I do so many errors with it, it's insane.
And then I tried a Fastarc C1 yesterday out of curiosity, and I found it close to my Loki Telson in its behaviour, arc, spin and speed. And I hit insane balls with it.
Maybe trying the G1 in 1,8mm would be worth it.
