DHS Hurricane 1 was developed for 38mm balls.
The topsheet was strong adhesive and the sponge was white and soft.

This rubber was sold until around 2001, but was discontinued due to the ball size change.

As its name suggests, it was marketed in a series called the “Grand Nature Series” at the time.

This cannot be... the Hurricane one piece is real!

Do you know any possible way to buy it? A rubber as rare as this should be a collectors' item. I'm not talking about the DHS stores or anything of the like since they are discontinued, as you said. But stocks from distributors MIGHT still have some. Do you know anywhere?

Another thing to ask, do you know any possible characteristic of this rubber compared to its successors?

DHS Hurricane 1 was not a bouncy rubber.
It was like a high-sticky version of G555 that designed for backhands.

The catalog specs at that time were as follows

Hurricane 1: spin 12 speed 11
Hurricane 2: spin 12 speed 12
Hurricane 3: spin 11 speed 12

This rubber is almost impossible to obtain nowadays.
There is almost no information available.

I see... so H1 was an ultra tacky rubber, which fully focused on spin. See that's the type of rubber I wanna get! Same reason I got skyline, too.

Yeah this checks out... but I'm willing to search far and wide, with help of course. I need this original H1 🤑🤑🤑

My s
Hell yeah, adds to the premiumness!
My second thought was that the print on the sponge didn't really evolve much either, I think a few years ago they still used that print for the serial number. Maybe even now it can be found on some DHS rubbers. Pretty old school but I like it.

Sorry the forum sometimes loads the replied text slow on phone and I don't notice I write something before the quote.

I would say I'd look at clubs old shared rackets. Maybe there's old DHS "pre-made" which has H1. In my country, we have a ton of 30+ year old 729 rackets with original rubbers on them which kids or beginners use.

Yeah, I know, that happens to me sometimes too. But I like to keep things VERY organized so I notice

Hmm, idk much about clubs... they can't be sold anywhere else? Btw I live in the Philippines, not really a big training center for tt.

Hmm, what place do you think I can buy it from?
@KY3333
The images I uploaded were on a Japanese blog site.
It seems that site is no longer searchable or findable.

I believe someone who owned a Hurricane 1 mentioned purchasing it from a small Japanese table tennis internet shop.

Occasionally, people sell old DHS rubbers or experimental rubbers on Japanese or Chinese flea market sites, but since virtually no Hurricane 1 rubbers remain in existence, obtaining one is extremely difficult.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN, THIS HELPS A TON. I will search through the depths of the internet like the Mariana Trench to find one sheet of this platinum rubber. I will pm you if I found one and I will state my experience 🥶

Why do you want to find H1?

Also I don’t think the Shopee listing I sent is h1, but it’s penhold and looks fun eh?

Well I heard it was a true spin rubber, possibly more spinny than 2 and 3. It's also a classic, rare, rubber. Great to have a rubber that's no longer sold to the public yk?

Planning to also use it in a main bat at some point.

Yep, after some research, it's a DHS G1385 with the rubber DHS 6512 (the rubbers are stated to be VERY old and needs replacement)

Pretty sure one can still find G555 pretty readily. Must be a reason they kept selling G555 over H1. I think in terms of technology, rubbers like H3-50 and TG3-60 are much more modern than G555, and H8-80 is the most modern backhand style rubber DHS offers outside of the ESN-made Goldarc 8. Never tried H9 or GA9 though but I havent heard much buzz around them.

Makes sense, I've been hearing G555 quite a bit and I've only heard of H1 ONCE before this thread. This is probably because G555 is just a better seller than H1, maybe H1 didn't get enough promotion and just disappeared.

Well of course. G555 is a very old rubber, and H3-50 and TG3-60 are better suited for the newer game. It's really just that I want that premium stuff yk?
