ABS balls killed it!!

Reference to my Forehand
I have used Tenergy 05fx for several years in 1.9mm as my preference to Max. I prefer the control and can hit the ball faster with it when I want to finish the point.
I think this is partly muscle memory as for 30 odd years I have generally mostly preferred 2.0mm rubbers (or one down from Max).
I am currently trying to use Victas V15 sticky or Xiom Omega VIII China. I particularly like the Victas V15 sticky, more so than any other hybrid I have tried in the past. I use mid pips on bh (again) or short pips last season. So when I play non spinny players which seems to be more and more opponents especially local league, I need to maximise my own spin input to cause opponents trouble off my fh side.
So what will I gain if I go up to Max thickness sponge. Presumably not that much as the sponge is already quite hard, I am 99% sure I have not hit the ball hard enough to bottom out yet.
I assume I will lose a bit of touch but also a bit of speed when driving and blocking, but presumably gain some speed and spin on power loops.
Is there anyone else out there still using 2.0mm or 1.9 hybrid or tacky rubbers instead of max?
