Firstly, thank you to the internet and TTD community for the various fundraising and donations over the years, from getting Cassel to the world championships, to the ongoing used rubber/clothing donations to kids that are from less fortunate backgrounds.

For those that are hearing it for the first time, you can read about Cassel here:

From there, I continued to collect used rubbers/clothing from pros/semi pros and send them to Africa and then Philippines.
TTD members also kicked in by send me they used but good rubbers, as well as monetary contributions, and for me to continue distributing.

Some information here:

While the supply of goods are smooth and getting a bit too much for me to handle (space+time etc), there has been ongoing cost incurred for sending goods out (and that has halted me to send out goods more regularly or promptly - which lead to space problem at home lol).
I am busy establishing receiving points in India, more points in Philippines, South Africa and Cameroon and my current box I packed last night - for Nigeria. Nigeria side distribution is with the help of Mr Aruna himself.

This is packed for Nigeria:
Shirts x 40
Shorts x 6
Rubbers x 50
Blades x 3

And I was shocked to see the online shipping calculator (post office air freight) comes back at around 100 Euros or NTD3500 to send Mr Aruna's box to him.

I have saved a lot of money by sending goods with friends going from Taiwan to South Africa (10kgs at a time) for free, but have also spent over 300 euros getting goods to South Africa too, and Philippines is around 700ntd for a box (20 euros) and I have done twice and looking to do a 3rd one soon. In fact together with Nigeria + Phillipines, I should have about 4 to 5 box loads of goods at the moment.

I haven't really utilized my networks in Taiwan and really went out to ask for goods. If I did, I am sure overnight, I should be able to get over 10 big centers to contribute and get Aruna box x 10 with ease and with my relationships with Korean and Japanese national players, I am also looking to setup collection points in Korea and Japan, and hopefully increase our volume like this. So this is in the pipeline, but with that, it will come with greater logistical costs.

I am calling out to TTD members if you wish to contribute to the cause by donation of some cash, can be 10s or 20s or 50s or Euros/USD. Only looking to raise around 200 - 500 euros for now, and that can last me a good few months to a year.

I have a Wise account (similar to Paypal, but used bank account numbers), so for the European based friends, I have an European bank account, so they won't be any bank charges on your side.
for USA based friends, I also have a USA based USD Wise bank account.
I have tested both Euros and USD and I can receive the funds.

Please do let me know if you can chip in and private message me, which country you will be transfering your funds from, and I can send you the bank accounts available from Wise.

Also - if you know of less forunate communities around the world where kids can benefit, I am happy to add it onto the list. One of my biggest worries is the person receiving the goods on that side profits from the donations - so it needs to be someone trust worthly.

I have to say, this does take out a lot of time and energy, but hopefully with few more landing hands, more TT kids from around the world can be benifiting.

Thank you all!

During my trip to Paris, I gave a luggage of donated goods to Aruna, for distribution in Africa and while in France, I met a very kind and loving mom. Her son represents Algeria and during this years African Junior championships, this Algerian (half French) kid witness how some countries players (at the African Championships) was sharing rackets..... YES, they had 1 racket for few players to share.

The mom instruct her son to give everything he has with him to those kids and he is not allowed to bring anything back to France. The son was sponsored, he can't just ask for new rackets, the mom said she will buy new rackets for him. I was touched by her gesture and I knew I can trust her.

So 2 weeks later, one of my players, Kayama Yu had a Pro A match, away match at the city she stays and I got Kayama to past this luggage to her and you can see our conversation below.

If her son is sponsored wouldn’t the blades that he gets from his sponsor (player version blades) will be different to the ones the mum can buy publicly. I think the mum is good for doing that but it would have been better if the blades that they give are not the players own blade. The blade that he plays will be different to a public version of the blade most likely.

TTD members in Europe.
So I have 2 collection points in Europe now, one in Germany and one in France.

Germany is via Sabine Winter where she has a project in Uganda and some Caribbean players to get the goods hand carried back to the Caribbeans, and France is via Aruna and the Algerian parents for Nigeria and various countries in Africa.

If you wish to donate your spare new/old blades, good used or new rubbers, table tennis clothing (shirts, shorts, tracksuits), please let me know and you can also contribute to a good cause.

When it comes to donating table tennis rubbers do the kids care about what type of rubbers they get. Would they prefer Chinese rubbers or hybrids/tensors?

I never really have this conversation before, I think 99.99% times they are more than happy to get anything.
because many of them are either sharing rackets, or have really old rubbers.

I have been collecting a bunch of stuff to donate and Tony asked me to post here calling for donations from other German users. If you happen to have anything you don't need anymore or know anyone that just has stuff lying around and want to donate to kids in Uganda you can PM me and I will forward you the address of the base in Germany to ship it to. Winter will get everything on its way to the final destination.

Things that are good to donate:
Rubbers
Blades
Shirts
Shorts
Bags/backpacks
Racquet cases

Balls are already covered by Tony.
