Depends wildly. My daughter at 10 played with like 160-165g and that was on the heavy side, but she's small for her age. But I also see 10yo boys on the taller end of things and they just play with "adult" setups of 180-190.

If they can swing it around for the majority of a training session, it's good IMO.

I switched from a junior bat to something "regular" pretty quickly, but that was around the age of 12.
