Zyre on SZLC, Boosting, Sanding & Benyamin Faraji Equipment Discussion (read disc)

According to major equipment records, Benyamin Faraji is reported to be using the Jun Mizutani SZLC blade with D05 on the forehand and D09c on the backhand. However, in the recent TTD video (he says he's using D09c both sides) where they played against him, he mentioned that he planned to try Z03 after the World Championships (We Challenged The WORLD'S BEST KID! | Benyamin Faraji) . After the world championships, I recall a temporary Instagram story that can't be found anymore on his page showing his racket with Z03 on both sides, with no change to the blade.

Given his physical fitness and playing level, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were able to adapt to such a high-performance rubber and it does seem well suited to his game. Is there any video evidence suggesting that he has switched to Z03 in match play or training?

This distinction is important because he would potentially be the only player using an extremely thick and super fast rubber on an SZLC blade (and not to mention the SZLC blade itself). The properties of Z03, particularly its thickness suggest that Zyre could pair exceptionally well with the high-vibration characteristics of SZLC, striking a compelling balance. As the modern game continues to get faster, it seems logical that professional players would gravitate toward faster equipment and flagship rubbers. Notably, almost all players currently using Zyre (with the exception of Lin Yun-Ju downgrading and getting stronger) have transitioned from ALC to SALC, or from SALC to ZLC to adjust for the rubber's properties.

Furthermore, many players have supported the idea that boosting makes Zyre play better, I am curious to know whether this would especially be the case on SZLC blades. The sponge would soften and it would be easier to generate the power Zyre promises that is a greater than the Dignics range and especially this is needed for a lower dwell time blade.

Conversely, some personal users have reported that Zyre feels slower and more difficult to generate power compared to the ALC setups due to the vibrations balancing each other out, but as a negative. A strong dampening effect of the blade would be created and whilst power generation at the elite level would be far more than ALC blades, it would be very difficult to reach that level.

An alternative solution, would be sanding the top plies of the blade. Zhang Jike as well as many other pros requests special 94g blades to sand down a whole 8g (Zhang Jike on ALC Blades & Why Players Sand Them) giving the blade more feeling and a dampened effect. Whilst this would ruin the durability, it is likely best for the feeling and predominantly on Zyre.

There's evidence to support the idea that Zyre may better complement stiffer, higher-vibration blades. That said, very few users report that it feels slower and more difficult to generate power compared to ALC setups. I’m also curious whether anyone has personal experience using Z03, particularly regarding which blades it pairs best with and how it performs in match play.

What is this, some AI slop?
Ok, I'll admit I embarrassingly put what I wrote into AI just to edit it because it was a spew of ideas just written down without any structure. I got lazy and should've just rewrote it myself ngl. I haven't used it for anything else and this reasoning has all come after hours of research so I'm looking for some input. Do you have any views to add?
