Hello, I’ve been sponsored by a company partner to xiom meaning that I have to use their equipment. Is there anyone who can share advice on what they use or recommend? Im not keen on the bouncy rubbers like tenergy 05. Also I need to get an xiom blade and am thinking about the one that Hugo calderano used before moving to joola because it might be similar a long 5 which I’ve tried and really liked

XIOM fan boy here.

Blades I can talk about.

I have the 36.5 ALXi which was my main blade for about 2 years. Can't say whether it is similar to an ML5, but I find it has really precise ball feel, low vibration and very deep hold sensation on heavy spin shots. Very linear, you get out what put in.

I also have a Hugo Calderano TMXi pro. Which is similar but faster and stiffer. Less forgiving, less feeling in the hand.

Rubbers.

If you don't like Vega X

Perhaps try Omega 8 china. I like it because it is less bouncy than other rubbers.

The Jekyll and Hyde C55 is worth trying too but is faster than O8 China. The C57.5 is also good as a harder FH rubber

J&H V47.5 or V52.5 I've tried as well and had a great time. Whilst I don't think they are bouncy like Vega X or tenergy they are perhaps more speed focused and have more noticeable catapult effect.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Is omega 7 Europe or omega 8 Europe a better choice for bh?

Unfortunately, interms of Hugo blades, I can only get a HAL, ALX pro or TMXI pro. I can also use the hayabusa blades if u have any recommendations on them

Well it depends on what you are looking for. Koto Outer blade or Limba Inner blade

Without knowing your level, style, preferences, prior setup, its hard to suggest something

since this is about blindly recommending something, I say Hugo HAL / Hugo TMXi Pro, C55 forehand, omega 7 pro backhand

I’m a cadet, strong on both wings, I’d say I’m probably more powerful than any cadet I’ve ever played against and would put my power generation up there with most high level juniors. I prefer inner blades for the feel and touch. That’s why I used a ma long 5

This is not my expertise and I really dont know why I even opened this thread but…
Isn’t the 36,5 Alxi almost a Ma Long 5 clone?

Can you not get the new Xiom Blades that just came out/are about to come out? Only Hugo or Hayabusa?

Just to make sure...you are currently playing Long 5 with Vega X and ELP? Because your profile is different.

What do you not like about Vega X and what do you want from a new rubber?

Hugo HAL & China Guang if you are sponsored. this is a great match. these rubbers are amazing, they just don’t last particularly long, unfortunately … same for C52.5/55/57 …
Hugo HAL is a blade which goes well only with harder rubber, but it plays well and gives really good feedback.

TMXi is less picky with rubbers. but with softer rubber vibration is higher, with harder rubbers the feel gets crispier and vibration is dampened a bit.

wouldn’t look at other blades from these series.

Hayabusa - you could try ZL, but haven’t played with it yet … from what I’ve heard it a very nice blade.

I can only get the Hugo ones or the hayabusa series unfortunately unless the new blades enter the shop within 5 weeks.
I want a bh rubber where I can generate my own power and it is medium/medium hard because I use tibhar fxs (my bad on the confusion) this is a very soft rubber about 39 degrees and I’ve been playing with it for around 2 years. I find that I really like the feel and that I can create my own power but I can’t create much power on my bh topspin which is a big problem in my game.i found that i really don’t like tenergy 05 (too bouncy) and vega Asia (dull feeling) if that helps

On the fh im using vega x which i hated at first because it took 2 months to break in playing 4x a week which is incredible strange in my opinion. It’s pretty good now but im wary about break in times on other rubbers if this was the case on vega x. I tried d09c multiple times and like it a lot on a fast blade but the guy who owns the shop doesn’t like tacky rubbers because they take soo much care so maybe c55 and the rest of them are out of the question.

For blades, I want an innerforce type blade like ma long 5 and ocharov alc. I really like the ma long 5 and I like the control and dwell of ocharov alc.

I have no budget so recommend what you like 😁
