i agree

Hey guys I'm just curious to know if there are differences of grip between the black & the red rubber because I only tried black 2.5 & 2.7 sponge?
same-same for me.

My fh 2.7mm is red, bh 2.5mm is black.

this I know. but in practical play, how difficult it is to engage the sponge. sponge is hard and really "fat" ... the point is to engage the sponge, otherwise you are not extracting full potential of the rubber ...

this is why I am reluctant - I am playing Dignics09c and only extract full potential when playing really full power and rubber reacts completely different to i.e. easy play or when I am playing against opponents that are not on my level (yet).

Zyre 03 and D09C share the same hardness so the only difference is D09C is sticky & Zyre 03 not.

and sponge thickness ... 2.1 or 2.5 or 2.7 is quite a difference ...

to engage sponge of 2.1 thickness is much easier than 2.5 or even 2.7 ...
If we are speaking of feeling it's "easy" to play with D09C but not to have less sponge because it's topsheet is sticky and also Zyre 03 is way fast speed so "small" dwell time.

Really are different rubbers: one is oriented more to spin & the other to power, speed with a lot of spin. Both needs full stroke. Both are superb rubbers.

The decision to use one or other depends from your skills & consistency, amateur level are not the market for these pro or semi pro rubbers.

ITTF Men & Women Singles World Cup 2006.

Zhao Qihao lost to Patrick Franziska 2-3. Patrick recently changed to Zyre03 from D09C.

Liang Jinkun lost to Ovtcharov 2-3. Ovtcharov also recently changed to Zyre03 from Dignics09C.

In 2008, Tenergy 05 revolutionized the TT sport after the speed glue ban.

In 2025, Zyre03 revolutionizes the TT sport in the 40++ ABS plastic ball era?

is Zyre03 the new Tenergy05?
