How does one do BH with this blade? 🤔

Standard backhand. Much like shakehand. Think of this as a shakehand blade with the head of the blade already down.

I posted my initial impressions in part 1 here.

I just finished up a video with play of it and my thoughts. will post Part 2 shortly... Just posted it.

So I have been rambling about my equipment being too fast etc etc, but then a second hand Fzd ALC popped up for a brilliant price and I couldn't let that pass.
Picked up the parcel today and it looks great, blade face in perfect shape and only a couple of nicks and a bit of grime on the handle.
Still have to do a sound check, because it seems like there has been a fall or some sort of knock on the handle, as can be witnessed from the metal tags. First impressions are great though.

We got Hurricane Long 5 Golden with DHS H3N BS 38° and DHS Skyline 2, we'll see how the Blue Sponge 38° goes for RPB 😲

Really going all out with the EJ and also ordered a sheet of Battle 2 Provincial Blue Sponge 40/2.10 for the forehand to replace my several years oxidized H3N due to huge sales right now. I was really happy with how 729 FX Blue Sponge felt so hopefully this is that but better.

Battle 2 definitely a good choice! When I tried it, it was very tacky, but I haven't used it since January of 2024 so I'm not sure how the tackiness is now 😮

It's one reason I went for it, I was disappointed in H3 tackiness. 729 FX was more tacky. I prefer the slight control over speed. Supposedly Battle 2 is not as tacky as it used to be either but is closer. Of course main reason is just to replace the what seems like rock hard years old rubber.

I didn’t even know these blades existed until a recent post on here, curiosity got the better of me and I’m really enjoying the blade after first session. First time using Nittaku acoustic inner carbon, every word regarding it is all true, amazing feeling, great control and decent speed.

I got the Omega VIII Pro for BH, and Jekyll C55. After Hurricane 3 40 BS the Jekyll feels super dynamic and super soft. I have a bit issue getting used to the Omega VIII, the angle I need contact ball seems to be much more aggressive then I am used to.

Bought short pimple Yasaka Razka PO for forehand. Tried it for 30 minutes and put it away. Should give it some hours to adjust, but dont think its for me.
You might like it more once you get adjusted to how they play. I would say if you like playing away from the table, then you should stick with inverted since you won't get good spin and power, but if you play close to the table, then short pips would definitely benefit 🙂

Tried the Battle 2. It is very similar to H3. Extremely hard feel on the first few strokes but it softened quickly. I think it is slightly faster, and it is a bit spinnier than my sheet of H3, but that is a years old sheet, so that is to be expected.

Overall I can consider them rough equivalents and will stick to Battle 2 going forward depending on how it holds up over time, due to lower cost. I also enjoy the increased tackiness.

I just got a return board. I like serving, so seeing how heavy the spin is has been awesome
Which one did you get? I don't have a permanent at home setup, but we have one at club. I always thought about using it for checking the quality on serves. I saw a fewer sale and they were surprisingly expensive.

A bit late to post though but back in January I got a Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition with Rakza Z for my FH and R7 for my BH and I love the blade and Rakza Z. Rakza 7 on the other hand is a good rubber (I've played with it before) but I'm going to explore a few different BH rubbers, starting with S1 from Donic (I played a few times on accident with RZ on my BH and loved it so wanted a lighter hybrid).

The blade itself has an amazing handle (best handle I ever tried alongside the handle from Bernie Szocs S1), plenty of power if you use your body and is a joy to loop with. I tried last training session my old Ovtcharov ALC and it felt as stiff as brick compared to this and I immediately went back :D

P.S. yes I know R7 needs to be cleaned it got dirty because I put it on my bed before I took the picture :D

I got this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHYXX41D?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Only $68 and works really well. But, it's Chinese, so it won't be like the picture lol.

The white board, where the rubbers are glued on, shows a nice edge all around the return board. But that is not how I received it. It didn't have a border, so I just had to clamp it down a little on the rubbers.
Still works great to see if you are unsure of the spin you are putting, or if you are trying to practice a different serve.

I found it great for my reverse pendulum serve. I just didn't know how heavy it was or if I was even getting enough underspin.

Hopefully it helps you improve your serves. For me it was a game-changer and really helped me to see the amount of spin I create. I got same-sized one (8 rubber fields) from aliexpress for similar price you paid.

Went a bit crazy with the Aliexpress sales and bundles and now I'm waiting for:
Sanwei T5000
Sanwei Fextra 5X KLC
Sanwei Target 3 Pro
Sanwei Target Special Soft
Yinhe Big Dipper V
Yinhe 955 0.7mm

The big dipper is gonna be a replacement for the Battle II I'm using right now, whenever it wears out. I'll try the Sanwei rubbers on the T5000 and I'll put my old sheet of Focus 3 with the 955 long pips on my current blade and use it to learn modern defense.

This year I missed out on the competition schedules and am getting back into the game so I just wanna try out a few equipment options that I think I might like and to mess around a bit with chopping and probably CS and short pips a bit later. I'd wanna try Jpen too but holy hell are the blades expensive, so maybe some other day.

Absolutely not intending to join the pips dark side or anything, but I've always wanted to learn real modern defense, so why not now when I have a 5ply wood blade that I probably won't be using, and some old rubber I probably won't be using.

EDIT: Also bought a sheet of Battle 2 Gold (To use with the Target Special Soft, because I ordered wrong color by mistake...) and a few cheap backhand rubbers to try out. I swear that's the last of it, don't whip me too hard. I intend to give the spent sheets away to beginners if possible and keep the ones I really liked.
