Low-key PO'd, and not about the interrupted stream. For all Bobrow's talk about 3-hour matches, the expedite rule is BS. It forces the defender to change their style of play for at least 50% of every game; while the attacker just needs to continue to be aggressive. I don't think there's a doubt in anyone's mind that Sato would have won 4-1 or 4-2 if it wasn't for that rule.

Easy solution: have expedite only apply to the game it's triggered in. It still pressures the players to finish in a "reasonable" time and can potentially be called in any of the games, but it only comes into play after a significant portion of the game has played out as it should.

As it stands, the rule handicaps a playstyle that's already been largely pushed out of the game at the highest level.

Good on Hitomi for fighting to a brutal finish, but this loss has got to sting.
