Best BH rubber for Butterfly Viscaria ALC with Dignics 09C on FH?

says I love ping pong🏓
Hi everyone,

I’m using a Butterfly Viscaria ALC with Dignics 09C 2.1 on my forehand.

I’m not sure what to choose for my backhand.
Would Dignics 09C 2.1 also work well on the backhand, or would it be too demanding/heavy with this blade?

I play mostly close to the table and I’m looking for good spin, control, blocking, countering, and enough speed on BH.

What would you recommend for BH with this setup?

Thanks!

What happened to using the D05 on the bh? You were using it on your last setup so I think its a good idea to continue using it on your new one
Tbh this dude has to be a bot, a troll, or just has the EJ virus because he's made several posts about what equipment he should use lol

I’m thinking about that too. I liked Dignics 05 on my BH in my previous setup, so continuing with it does make sense.

My only concern is that I’m moving to a faster, sharper blade with less dwell time, so I’m worried that D05 on the backhand might feel a bit too direct and fast for me. I’m afraid I may lose some control, especially in BH topspin and receive, and that more balls might go into the net or become harder to lift.

That’s why I’m still debating whether to stay with D05 on BH or choose something a little more forgiving.

I get why it may look like that from the outside, but I’m not constantly changing equipment.

I’ve been playing with Harimoto Innerforce ALC and Dignics 05 2.1 on both sides for more than a year and a half. Now I simply feel that I want to move to an outer carbon blade and a tackier FH rubber.

After asking different questions here and getting feedback, I already made my decision: I ordered a regular Butterfly Viscaria ALC with FL handle, and I’m locked in on Dignics 09C 2.1 for my forehand.

The only thing I’m still trying to decide is my BH rubber. That’s it. I’d appreciate a professional tip about that instead of assuming I’m just randomly switching gear.

Thats something only you can determine, after trying it. Both are good rubbers and many players use them on Viscaria. You can speculate all you want and receive all the feedback in the world but until you actually try it you will never know for sure. The good thing about going for D05 in your case is that you are already used to the rubber. And your projected setup will already have one side with D09C so if you find that D05 bh doesn't work as well on Viscaria, you can always flip the racket around to try the D09C on bh and determine if it will work or not. If you really don't want to spend the money on a rubber you won't use, just get the Viscaria and D09C then put one of your old D05 on the backhand- given that in that scenario you'll be using a rubber that you are familiar with as well as being used to the level of wear already, I think it'll tell you more than enough to find out if you like it. Then if it works, get a fresh sheet when you need it, or try D09C.
