I guess I am a bit late to the party, but here comes a few pointers from me. Some guys have already been hinting at this but, I think this is a case of too much arm movement without body movement. If you want more power in the loop(especially if you do not borrow your opponents speed, like when attacking on a slow push), you have to use the power in your legs and hips. Arm alone(I am not saying you are not moving your body at all, but you need more of it) will not work. it can work on flat hits but not if you want to generate lots of spin and speed on loops. Backhand is easier since you can get quite a long way with a snappy wrist and fast lower arm movement, but forehand is not as forgiving.

I agree with one of the previous repliers also though. In the drills you move your body more than you do during match play. You probably tense up during match play. So take a chill pill and put on some Enya music in the background and maybe match play will be as good as drills!? :D

I am referring to this type of fh loop. Is this a workable fh loop or is it something too easily countered? What do you guys think?
I think these were good. You can not start creating spin and power at the same time. Power is more from your leg/body, and spin is more about how to contact the ball. These two loops from you had decent spin. And I think that is a good start point. Play it more often this way and gradually add power and speed. For power and speed, you would need another thread on how to use your leg/body more.

In your forehand warm-up video, watch where most of your loops land on the table. Shallow, easy to counter. You don't have a lot of power, but I think you have enough. Getting more power consistently would require better footwork. I'd recommend focusing on placement. Work on landing your loops deeper, and out wide or to the elbow in match play.

Three pages of Gozo talking about "no more bomba" and "spin more" and now he's showing off pictures of R7? Not a single word in worship of Butterfly? I think our old Unker G has been taken out and replaced by a lizard man... 😥
Even I surprise myself...

Yes sir, this is also what @NextLevel said to me in an earlier post. I guess this unker have to do what unker do best, focus on placement, rather than power. Welcome myself to unkerhood.

Fyi, when I played ESN!s on FH, the best (and spinniest) for me was Tibhar Hybrid MK. Just a tiny bit sticky and almost no catapult with good speed.

I wish to speak a bit about Seth’s video, especially the Type 1 spin-up technique he mentioned against ambiguous spin ball, that is to say, when you are not sure about the spin on the incoming ball.

In the video, he recommends to spin up the ball to create a high loopy and spinny ball as the default solution.

I tried and I face the problem of over looping. Many a times, my club mate pushes are not spinny, almost dead and short. Why this happens? It is because at club level, we try to play safer so we just touch the ball to play short to prevent opponent from looping / attacking the ball. In a nutshell, we try not to let the ball go out of table to make it harder for opponent to start the attack.

In such a situation, when I loop, the ball will over shoot ( deadish ball ) and if I try to push, it pops up high. How does one deal with such situation?

That shot needs to be brushed very thin, its easier to pull off if you let the ball sink lower before you hit.

If you know the ball is not spinny go for the second type shot

I believe this video shows good examples how to deal with that, I personally have a hard time reading the spin or lack of it to correctly respond.
