  1. German league TTBL 2025-26

I was at the game. Great time, great atmosphere in the hall and a nice underdog win for Bremen. Aguirre played the game of his life there. The stars aligned a bit for him, as Fan looked pretty pedestrian in his first game. But Aguirre played like a man possessed and it was a well deserved win...
  2. Fan Zhendong is joining 1. FC Saarbrücken next season

As soon as I head rumors about it (back in June even) I checked the Saarbrücken schedule and bought tickets to their away game nearest to me. Hopefully Fan will travel with the team and play that day. Else I will watch some good TTBL Tabletennis live. Win / win situation, I guess :)
  3. Best rubber under $5?

There are several version of the Kokutaku 868: Blue, Red, Gold and Black. Do you have any experience / recommendations with respect to the different versions?
  4. Best rubber under $5?

Hi, thanks for these extensive informations. which of these would you recommend as a "fun" / "pick up and play in the lunch break" type of rackets for club table tennis players used to euro style rubbers?
  5. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

You will have the hassle of taping / covering parts of the racket you don’t want sprayed, though
  6. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

So I continued the conversation a bit and it basically comes down to this: If you apply pressure after gluing anyway, e.g. a stack of books for some hours, it largely doesn’t matter if you apply the gluesheet first to the sponge or the blade.
  7. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

Okay, sorry, but I have to ask: Why are you not going the usual glue sheet way? 1. put the glue sheet on the blade 2. cut the glue sheet to size 3. remove protector of the other side 4. roll on rubber 5. cut rubber to blade size I have done it this way with ox rubbers a couple of times and it...
  8. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

Well yes, but if I have to break out the glue anyway, might as well put another layer on the blade and the rubber and just glue normally. The idea is to not mess with liquid glue at all. Or that’s my motivation at least…
  9. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

Thank you for the tips! Will report back when I have tried it. Will be a while, however, my Fastarc g-1s are still relatively fresh and they last forever…
  10. GLUE SHEETS...The Good, the Bad (and the Ugly?)

Where do you buy in Germany? I have been looking for a better way to glue (or a more convenient way at similar results, really) for a long time. I was about to try out Nittaku glue sheets the next time I need to replace rubbers. But this sounds even better. (y) However, I have only found 25...
  11. I've trained with 20+ top coaches in the world and I still suck :) - AMA

@size12font Not sure if you are still reading this, but my question would be: How did you, as some rando low level amateur player (no offense), get to train with all these amazing coaches and / or players? Did you just write them directly (facebook, instagram, ...) and ask them if they would...
  12. Is Nittaku Acoustic 5 Ply Allwood still worth it this 2025?

Can't speak for other countries, but there are some players in the upper German leagues playing 5-Ply wood blades. These people would have a USTTR of 2600 and above. Surely, playing the "modern game" with 5-Ply woods should be feasible for the rest of us, too?
  13. Is Nittaku Acoustic 5 Ply Allwood still worth it this 2025?

Indeed, I love it. But I will admit that it is a bit of a vanity purchase for me. I would be served just as well with a 30$ high quality 5-ply blade, e.g. the Yasaka Sweden Extra.
