  1. Table tennis at the Mediterranean Games-2026 (26 August - 2 September 2026)

In the women’s event, Hana Goda (Egypt) won gold in the final against Xiaoxin Yang (Monaco). In the men’s event, it was Mehdi Bouloussa (Algeria) who took gold by defeating Youssef Ahmed (Egypt) in the final.
  2. Euro Mini Champs-2026 (28–30 August 2026)

There is (new) hope for Belgium. Aiden Braekmans-Cepeda (born in 2015) lost the final against Vladimir Filimon from Romania.
  3. FH issue: i dun wanna smash no moar, i wanna spin moar. help!

What I notice at a glance is a stiff wrist, and arm movements that are usually too short and too slow – you need to turn your body more. (Compared to how I hit topspin) May I ask how old you are, or at least roughly... :D
  4. FH issue: i dun wanna smash no moar, i wanna spin moar. help!

@Gozo, Why don’t you use that Zyre03 anymore?
  5. Chondromalacia Patella (Knee Pain) – Experience from TT players

Absolutely correct, I can confirm that. I developed a joint mouse in the bones of my knee at a very young age (15). It affected both my lower and upper leg. I’ve already posted about the outcome here, as I had two total knee replacements at the ages of 49 (left) and 50 (right).
  6. Classic Matches

I’m fairly certain that left-handers derive certain advantages from their motor skills. And not just from their motor skills, but also from their way of thinking, which sometimes differs slightly from that of right-handed players. JM Saive didn’t originally particularly enjoy playing against...
  7. Classic Matches

Yes, indeed, the first time was in ’80 at an official tournament. We still have all the details here – the date, location and result. We beat him then💪. The following season, we played him twice in official tournaments and lost both times:LOL:. It’s incredible how he became his country’s...
  8. Classic Matches

Stellan Bengtsson introduced me to table tennis (because he’s left-handed too) when we were 16, after we’d seen some footage of it on the news, and because, shortly afterwards, in 1977, we went to watch the World Championships in Birmingham. Saive will always remain my idol because of his...
  9. New Simon Gauzy Signature blade !

This isn’t the first time Lab has reported different information about Andro. It was the same with the Ligna_TP series.
  10. Classic Matches

Table tennis is therefore one of the few sports in which the ‘winner’ cheers exuberantly when their opponent misses a ball.
  11. At What Point is an Upgrade from D09c to Z03 Justified on BH?

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to watch Gionis Pana training live here. As you know, he’s been playing with Zyre03 on his forehand for a few months now. It was remarkable that (given his age) he didn’t even need to make a fast, powerful movement to generate speed in his shots, which were...
  12. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

True, I believe him. Totally different ball-angle.
  13. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

I don’t see that many changes between 0–7 and 8–8. Perhaps the two banana flips with more spin that Sora placed over the table? At his level, they’re not really the hardest shots to return, are they? Sora lost the match purely for psychological reasons, something that’s lingered from the past...
  14. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

From 0–7 to 11–8, Tomo barely scored one single point (9-8) in my view. Sora really threw it away with all those other baffling errors. Set 7 is simply the psychological fallout from set 6. It’s quite funny that he says in the interview that he kept fighting in set 6… if I’d been handed...
  15. Looking for Lightweight Rubber Recommendations

I’d stick with Andro. They have a range of rubbers that aren’t very heavy (Hexer Grip SFX for example). Gewo also has a few, such as the Hype series. If you stick to rubbers with a hardness of under 45°, you’ll benefit from your setup.
