  3. until what age can you play Table Tennis ;-)

At the start of this league season, I was the youngest player with a team average age of near 80yo. Mid-season, we lowered that average by recruiting a 65yo. For next season we are thinking of changing our team name to, Arthritics TTC.
  4. Is it a good idea to cut a FL blade to CS?

There are 3 players in my local league that use the Penhold grip. The funny thing is that they all use Shake-hand blades.

  9. Offtopic - Car you'd buy for your family and team

To keep this thread relevant to the forum, I recommend the 1995 Volvo 960. I travelled all over the UK taking kids to tournaments. Twice ,I drove to France for tournaments. Very comfortable with a London taxi type turning circle, which came in very handy for the many times I either missed turns...
  10. TTD Team Spin Challenge With WORLD CHAMPION!

When Annette is the only one in the frame, she looks like any typical female player. But when she's standing next to the others, they are all six footers, one realises that she's actually taller/bigger than them . She's strong. No wonder that she can give the ball such big spin and speed

A thoughtful review. It makes me, as an advanced 1400USATT - 70+yo player, really want to try this 🤔.
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I can see that. I was looking at the bounce. But I wouldn't argue too much based on how the ball 'held up' enough to enable a double bounce. But funny that you should reply as I remember a few months ago, you advocated that this stroke was suitable for deceptive pushes.
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

The stroke mechanics of this lunge shot in this reminds me of how a player executes a hook serve. It interests me as an option to a fancy attempt at a 'round the net' shot'. The script describes it as backspin but I think it is more side with a little top. Any thoughts?
  14. Need help finding a backhand rubber that is as good or better than fastarc g1

Exactly. Same here. It can take me up to a work-week to glue a pair of new rubbers onto the blade. The upside is that since using this method, I have never had any shrinkage or bad glue job issues.
