Hey guys! Today we’re joined by one of the most complete table tennis players on the planet… Patrick Franziska!

Now Patrick doesn’t just beat top players, he’s the only European ever to defeat Ma Long, Xu Xin and Fan Zhendong… three players who dominated the sport for over a decade.

In this video, Patrick walks us through his latest equipment setup, now using Zyre 03 on the forehand and Dignics 09c on the backhand. We get his thoughts on how they both compare, pick up some exclusive tips, and even put the rubbers to the test with a fun blind challenge at the end.

  • Patrick F has given his two Euro worth of input regarding Dignics09C versus Zyre03.
  • Now, it is Unker Gozo’s turn to give his two penny worth of input regarding D09C vs Z03.
  • Two nights ago, at uncle’s last practice, he had the opportunity to borrow his clubmate Yinhe’s Viscaria clone blade with D09C and played a Bo7 game. Then he played back-to-back another Bo7 using his regular SK7 with Z03.2,7 fh.
  • Hence he can compare side by side.
  • Drive / Speed: Zyre > D09C.
  • Loop / Ease of opening: D09C > Z03
  • Serve: D09C > Z03
  • Pushes: D09C > Z03
  • Smashes: Z03 > D09C
  • Ease of generating power from mid / far distance: Z03 > D09
  • D09C - suitable for an all-round or power looping game play. A more versatile rubber to suit more game style.
  • Z03 - Speed first game play. Drive / counter-drive / rally and counter-rally especially mid distance play is an absolute beast! A specialised rubber for this particular play style.
