there is a certain point where you can beat everyone below you in the rankings.
but everyone above you in the rankings will beat you.
you have tried all the styles and all the equipments.
you tried private coaches.
but nothing makes you progress further.

what to do then?
simply leave the sport quietly?

Everyone can beat those ranked below him and lose to those ranked above, that's what rankings are for, so you're really just describing someone who's stagnant. To breakthrough you need to identify and address your weaknesses. What one's weaknesses are and how to address them will vary wildly from person to person, so there isn't gonna be an easy answer.

What level are we talking about here?
I see you use Viscaria and Zyre 2.8.
If you use that and you're 2000+ usatt then it's not likely that anything in here will help you.
If you're a low ranking mediocre player then you're using the wrong equipment for sure.

But ignoring equipment for a minute and assuming your racket is perfect for you then there is still so much that can be worked on.
Your physical fitness, your strength, your speed, your mobility, your weight, your mental approach and attitude, quality of training, your tactics etc etc can all come into play and fixing one of them can enable you to fix another (and so on) and still working with a coach and getting consistent practice can then drive you past your plateau.

Excuse me if this is too direct or offensive but I would question slightly your judgment of things and also your expectations.
I say that because much of your past posting has been erratic/confusing and almost unstable at times. Like editing things to completely change them or strange posts that are completely deleted afterwards....
This isn't an attack but an observation based solely on what little I've seen in here.
If there is something eating you internally, in a mental way then I would strongly advise prioritising this first and get yourself to a good place where you are happy. Then set out a plan for physical health and training and stick to it, religiously!
Regular physical activity and exercise play a huge part in determining our regular mental ability and capacity for discipline. If you can't get your mind and body aligned and both optimised then progress at a sport so intricate, specialised and technical as TT is made even more difficult.

If all of the above is way off and doesn't apply and you can't progress past average then maybe it's as simple as volume of training and ability of the coach? 🤷‍♂️
But exit the game, no. Play it for the enjoyment at least. To fail to get further enjoyment from it would be a mental/attitude failure in itself. Acceptance, participation, socialising, competing, winning, losing etc, it should still be something you can do.
I reckon you should be able to alter you view a little to still have fun.

Nah, there are plenty of options. a) You are on a plateau, you have to continue training hard and wait until you start to improve again. This might take months. If it still doesn't help then... b) You take a break. A few weeks, even more depending on how burnt out you are. Then you come back, train and after a short acclimatization you should play better. If it still doesn't help.... c) You have to change your training, because you are doing something wrong.

it's not just about me.
in the club every time 2 players play I already know who is going to win based on their rankings (which almost never changes).
they can play 100 times and 90 times the result will be the same.
so it all becomes really predictable and boring.
I'm not talking about novice players...... I'm talking about people with more than 5 years training.

Theres something else going on here.
And it seems to be your view of things.
There is a player at our club who has NEVER beaten me, not even once in probably 40 attempts over 3 years.
But we are both much better players than we were 3 years ago. The gap is still there but we have both improved a lot.
But you complaining about better players almost always beating worse players is a waste of everyone's time.

Take on some advice to break past your plateau, or don't. 🤷‍♂️
Up to you dude! 👊

well you are both in a plateau too.
the whole world is in a big plateau.
you just trick yourself into thinking you are improving.

in what division are you now and it what division were you 3 years ago?
also for context when did you start competing?

"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Learn 2 new serves and perfect them maybe at home on the kitchen table if needed. Using these new serves sporadically during a match might give you the odd win over some players just ranked above you but what it really might do is getting you out of a rut 😂
what about you?
how long ago did you start competing?
in what division are you?

the thread was meant as a deep dive of a terryfing situation over the tt clubs in the planet earth.
not about my personal situation and "how can we help you".
it seems every thread people react in this way "let's see how can we help you and give you instructions".

Then you start working on match-specific problems.

How do they win most of their points?
How do you win most of your points?

There are always improvements and adjustments that can be made.

Sometimes the skill gap is also too big to be able to go from losing to winning right away just by improving in one area, and you need to improve in multiple ways to start winning against that person.

progress is not linear

Most often it’s not just one skill or just one box to tick which is enough to go to next level

Also when you work on some aspects of your game , some other aspects may be neglected and degraded.

So you could still be improving at some skills but overall not win that many more matches.

But when it clicks out then suddenly you can go up several levels quickly

Not ever losing someone below your ranking is great it’s half the job done. You just need to beat 10% of matches to higher ranked players and automatically you’ll go up…

===

But in day to day training you can set some objectives

What it is that I cannot do now and that I’d like to be able to do ? Is it really impossible to do it ? Whatever the time and effort ?

I’m in the camp where I doubt there is no room for improvement ,
In whatever activity which is learnable

Easy.

You leave tt for three months.

You come back completely washed and get beaten by a short pimples unc, most probably with an illegal serve (but who cares).

Then you start to play again to go back to ur initial plateau. Rinse and repeat.
I've seen people leave the sport and come back after years..... and guess what..... THEY ARE STILL ON THE SAME DIVISION WHERE THEY WERE WHEN THEY LEFT.
they just need a couple months training.
this I'm talking about seasoned players with decades under their belt competing.

not about woo woo AI steve who played 1 year and then left for 2 years and comes back plays 6 months....... yeah that guy hasn't reached his POINT so he may falsely believe the narrative that you can always keep advancing.

You can still improve at something even after years of doing it, but it happens in smaller increments and requires more deliberate and targeted training.

Just playing frequently and improving with exposure over time is important, but has its limitations.
But other players also train and try to improve.
And if their ranking is higher they generally have access to better training partners than you.
So in the end this pyramid structure forms that keeps people from moving up or down.
Actually age moves people down little by little

You should have said so in your opening post, that you are talking about a "rhetorical situation " and that both your mind and the quality of your play is fine etc. etc blah blah blah 😂
