Blade: Yinhe Mercury Y13
Weight: Approx. 90g
Head Size: Large (oversized)

🏓 Introduction

Today, I’m reviewing the Yinhe Mercury Y13. From the start, this blade stands out due to its composition: it features an outer Limba layer and uses the same fiberglass-based carbon as an outer ply. The head size is larger than standard, and the weight is on the heavier side, coming in at around 90g.

---

🔧 Build Quality & First Impressions

Despite being a budget-friendly option, the build quality feels quite premium. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and when you hold it, it gives you the feel of a high-end blade. It’s a stiff blade with a solid sweet spot, inspiring confidence on every shot.

---

⚡ Speed & Vibration (Fiberglass Effect)

The speed rating sits right in the OFF or OFF- range. It has good, moderate power for finishing shots and aggressive loops. The feedback transmitted to the hand is medium—neither too numb nor too sensitive.

---

🌀 Dwell Time & Linearity

Dwell time is on the medium-to-low side, meaning the ball doesn’t stay on the blade for long. This contributes to a medium-to-high throw angle. I’d describe its behavior as slightly non-linear. It performs excellently on topspin shots from all distances, though I found that I prefer it from a mid-distance sweet spot.

---

⚠️ Drawbacks (Honest Opinion)

1. Weight – At around 90g with an oversized head, it’s relatively heavy, which can affect players with a heavier wrist action, especially during longer rallies.

---

✅ Final Verdict

The Yinhe Mercury Y13 is a low-cost blade that punches above its weight and delivers solid performance. Its build quality is surprisingly excellent. It’s superb for topspin and fast drive play, offering great control and power for aggressive styles.

🏆 Recommended for:
✅ Aggressive hitters (close to the table and at mid-distance)
✅ Players using Chinese rubbers (H3 Neo, Skyline, Battle II)

❌ Not recommended for:
Players who prefer lighter setups or have wrist sensitivity, and those seeking a more linear, flexible feel.

Yes, with tensor rubbers they usually have very little feel, but with Chinese rubbers it improves a bit. But I think the yinhe mercury y13 has good speed and the core material and thickness of the layers may be different from your blade. Thanks for your comment.
I've had a fiberglass + limba outer blade before, it was quite terrible, no feeling and not much spin yet not stiff enough for hitting.
