Hi!

I’m a beginner who practices 2–3 times a week on a local club in a beginners group setting and I’m looking for advice on the best upgrade path. I do feel that I am progressing pretty fast when comparing with fellow beginners. I am very much enjoying this sport!! If it makes any difference I am in my mid forties.

My three setups are:
Butterfly Primorac FL + Rozena
Donic J.O. Waldner Gold Edition + Baracuda
Butterfly Timo Boll ALC FL + Rozena

I got good deals on 2 of them and 1 was a gift.

Which order would you recommend using them, and when would you move from one to the next?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks !

My goal is improving my technique, not upgrading too quickly. Thanks!

Thanks for reply. In your opinion the Donic setup is not worth keeping?
Donic themselves states in the product description that control: challenging. It's probably a nice piece of workmanship, made in Korea.

But what Donic says about the low level of control can be translated into common English: should be used by elite level and/or highly experienced players (10+ years) only. I was interested in buying it at first, but it would only make me play worse, not better.

Understood! Thanks for the explanation

If by Primorac you mean the all-wood 5ply version then that's your starting point.
Many people will never move on from that blade and play very, very well.

The Donic setup will probably be more technically demanding. Baracuda is heavier than Rozena and the Waldner Gold edition has a slightly oversized head, so the weight and balance is likely noticeably further towards the tip than the other two rackets. Baracuda also has improved grip and spin capacity than Rozena so it will react to spin more strongly. However the TBALC has a koto surface outer ALC (fiber under the wood surface) composition which reduces a lot of the softness, vibration/feeling, and flex that a limba surface five ply wood like primo Off- has, so changing to a blade like TBALC might take a lot of adjustment time. On the other hand the Waldner Gold is limba surface with inner ALC (fiber under the first 2 layers of the blade) so there is more softness and feeling of 'dwell' compared to the TBALC
