More like Timo Boll ALC, because the middle layers are limba, not ayous

Clearly Ayous, not Limba.

Maybe ayous... However, many sources of information indicate limba. More importantly, what I wanted to say in the previous post, the SP carbon blade is not Viscaria, since Viscaria has middle layers of ayous, and SP carbon has limba.
In the photo of the Timo Bol ALC blade, that you posted, it is difficult to say unequivocally what kind of wood it is. Limba can be very different colors, structures and densities. We had a batch of light limba, which is very soft, fragile and in its mechanical and playing properties is closer to ayous.
Unfortunately, we have not had such a broken blade during repair, I cannot say exactly what kind of wood is in the middle.
Judging by the reviews of Timo Bol ALC, many people feel that it is harder than Viscaria, so the version with limba looks plausible. I have a photo of the end of a Timo Bol ALC blade. In terms of color and texture, the middle layers are closer to limba than to ayous.

I have a photo of the end of a real Timo Bol ALC blade. In my opinion, in terms of color and texture, the middle layers are closer to limba than to ayous.
I will sound very arrogant here, but I honestly can't think of another way of saying it, but I mean no offense.

It's difficult for you, for me it isn't. It's unequivocally Ayous, in both cases.
The opposite is also true, Ayous also varies a lot in color and density, and in some cases it can have properties closer to Limba.

Nevertheless, you do it.
I didn't offend you directly, I just pointed your mistake. The only reason I did, is because then I will have countless people saying: "oh, but that guy online said it was Limba." And then I will have to explain to all of them individually that it isn't.

Okay, if that's the case.

Sergio, I might be wrong, but there's actually a lot more information about limba than about ayous. It's the top sites that show up in search results and the opinions of artificial intelligence. Maybe that guy making mistakes on the forum is you? ;)

Let me repeat, I cannot say for sure that it is a limba and not an ayous, since I have not held this blade in my hands in a disassembled state.

I believe viscaria and timo boll has the same structure. You can understand that from the reaction and vibration. So, If viscaria has ayous middle layer, timo boll ALC needs to have the same middle layer. But it is only my opinion, it can be wrong.

Cheers

I make plenty of mistakes, but that's not one of them 😉.

I know it's me against the world on this, because the fallacy has been perpetuated endlessly by those who know nothing about the subject. I've seen dozens of them with my own eyes, and I have disassembled a couple. It's Ayous.

In the patent application for Butterfly AL/ALC blades, it's explicitly stated the 2nd ply is Ayous.

If we are comparing the opinions of someone who has made 1000s of blades using both Limba and Ayous on a daily basis, with an AI summary that just repeats the most common opinion, then we would probably side with the blade maker, no?

Butterfly doesn't release the layer information publicly, and unless someone can determine how they know it is Limba, I'd say going with the qualified opinion makes more sense.
