Yasaka Goiabao 5

In the last ten years and with numerous posts and questions.
Especially what would be an upgrade on a Yasaka MLC for a player who uses SP or MP on backhand and likes to spin up and drive and smash on fh.

Why oh why, did someone not tell me to try a Yasaka Goiabao?

Y'all know how fussy I am on blade shape.
You know I needed something stiffer/harder for pips but not a clipper.

The goon squad need to give themselves a good talking too!

Also why did no one tell me to try MX-P as a way to get off Tenergy 05fx without going to Tenergy 05.

I mean I dont know abouy yasaka goiabaro toyataro but mx-p was the rubber most recommended in that 50 or something page thread about "Tenergy 05 alternative"

MX-P has been reccomended for litrally years as the de facto T05 alternative as well as G1

Any Rosewood blade should be good then?

I don’t know wood types good enough to answer this. I feel in general it is easier to get good technique with harder faster blades so hard wood, carbon and thicker blades would work. Can play with softer blade aswell but think rubber need to be a bit harder then.

How fast is the G5? I've just switched to mid pips on my BH and I'm looking for a blade that is stiff but not too hard ( possibly quite linear). G5 could be exactly what I've been looking for. Currently using a carbon blade and I like the feel on the FH side, but somehow it feels a bit too hard for my pips BH.

I think its quite fast for a wood blade. To the point that im finding it a bit tricky to get my pips right on the backhand.

I would say its very good for drives and smashes on fh, and fast for a wood, faster than MLC. But still seems ok for looping on a well executed loop.
I think it could be the answer for a lot of pips players that still want to retain some speed on other side.

I would just recommend buying one and trying it.

I think I'll wait until it goes on sale somewhere before getting one, don't really want to change my setup now that the season has started.
It does sound like an interesting blade but with the current market, I don't want to lose too much money if I end up not liking it. It seems quite difficult to sell blades on the second hand market for a decent price lately.

Yes I agree, but they are only 45 euros at TT11. I have tried loads of blades and this is the most balanced blade I have found for pip hitting/ blocking but still suitable for loop on fh.
Its so much better than any 7 ply blade I have tried for being balanced between the 2 concepts, especially with the ABS balls.
I am amazed more players are not using this!
Just on another point you should not try blades and then decide, you should pick a blade and rubbers for your style and use them.
Then adapt the things you don't like or improve them.

This is coming from a reformed EJ. Learnt though hard experience.

Actually I only tried the Goiabao for short term but it's a pretty cheap and good blade and the best feature of it is the perfect FL handle. I am sure I never felt a better FL handle than the Goiabao. There are a very few blades that I would recommend to any level, from beginner to almost pro and Goiabao and Tibhar Lebesson and Mizuno Fortius FT are probably the blades that fit the bill.
