  1. Thread about Japanese Players

The 2 best buddies might need to fight each other in the final 😰
  2. WTT Star Contender Chennai-2026 (10 - 15 February 2026)

ODO won the title. I stick to my prediction that the LA JNT women's team will be Harimoto, Odo + Hayata or Nagasaki [need one leftie for doubles] No Kihara and no (unfortunately) Hashimoto.

  5. Match tactics

well it may be just semantics, but i don't agree. I'll give you 2 different analogies. 1) one comes from trading. One makes a great trade and makes plenty of $$$$. Turns out he was lucky, not skill, will trade again make mistakes and get REKT 2) one is a musician. will practice his favorite...
  6. Match tactics

No one is saying here that you can't spin a ball or play xx FH in a row. But you're playing at your level. Your rating is not lying. its not a low rating. but its not particularly high either. We only have doubts that you can improve if you focus on the wrong things like EJ or overthinking. By...
  7. Looking for a Fh Rubber

no you missed the entire point. It's called irony. You're obviously not an Olympic player. btw in Japan, I know some very high level players, they compete like only two or three times a year (basically the national champs, the national club champ and the Tokyo Open). So there are many more...
  8. Looking for a Fh Rubber

olympics is only every 4 years. relax man
  9. Looking for a Fh Rubber

I’m nowhere a great player and I don’t think my mental game is a strength. I’ve had very bad tournaments where my mental game was very bad. But also very good days or matches when it was exceptionally good. And sometimes in the same day you can make a superb match followed by a shit one or...
  10. Match tactics

watched a bit the 3 matches. not a lot to comment on tactics on match 2 or 3 with easy wins against lower opponents. 1st opponent was clearly better. his ball spin quality was high on opening loops and consistent. i think you didn't play bad. Actually you managed to raise your level compared to...
  11. Match tactics

the thread is about match tactics and you're back posting about rubber hardness and sponge activation. EJ one day, EJ always... you're overthinking it. IMO you should forget about all these things, they pollute your mind. just focus on technique , or here on tactics
  12. 35th ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup 2026, Haikou, 2/4-8

The good thing about playing straightforward is that most often the next ball coming from the opponent is straightforward as well

    chairman serve is so illegal
  14. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Not only is she at the top of Europe but she’s given new hope to millions of EJs around the world.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

If you have the racket over the table IMO its dangerous as you can get surprised easily by a really long fast serve. In doubles many people do that because it’s easier to know where the ball is going but in singles ? If you have fast footwork and reaction to adjust why not but else …
  16. Playing in cold halls

forgot to say, in those tournaments in cold halls, inevitably it happens that you must referee other players. thats when your body freezes. And then you are called for a match, there is no warmup (thats the rule in Japan), and disaster follows
  17. Playing in cold halls

I think it's just better to find another hall. Furthermore you might catch cold. I remember playing in very cold halls for tournaments, i was literally freezing when i played. of course i didn't perform at all, and had some very bad losses. I'm not going there again in winter time.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I agree with you but didn’t have chance this time to play any lower level player 😂 Last Sunday played only 3 matches . 1st guy much higher ranked player 0-3. I was doing well in rally and even receive but I didn’t understand how to serve on that table which was soooo slow. My underspin serve...
