  1. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Great advice, thanks. I have pretty good serves, especially long ones, but I don't have enough variety so my opponents get easily used to them as the match advances
  2. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Tourney was absolutely horrible, lost 4 matches, all against lower-ranked players (including one that I 3-zeroed twice in the past), won only 1. I'm afraid my level decreasing has to do with much more than material issues, but we'll see if going back to Acoustic / G1 will alleviate some of the...
  3. Medium hard rubber for backhand

Agree 100%. I loved G1 as a backhand rubber on my 5-ply limba Acoustic but did not like it on my SALC
  4. Medium hard rubber for backhand

G-1 is not spin-sensitive, imo that's one of its many advantages: grippy / spinny when you need it and able to control incoming spin when blocking / countering etc.
  5. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Well in a certain way I'm still trying to solve issues by switching material but at least this time i wiil be going back to something familiar and more suited to my skills. For sure i had better results in matches with my Acoustic / G1 setup but we'll see if it's not just my level going downhill!
  6. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Well after a few more hours, and while this set-up is for sure solid... my conclusion is just that I'm boxing above my weight with the super ALC. Too fast for me, I'm not able to control it so I'm not as confident as before, especially on openers. It's not a rubber issue, it's a blade issue, I'm...
  7. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

First 2h session with new rubbers, mix of drills and one-setters. Was the comeback training after Xmas break and I struggled quite a bit physically, so not in the best condition to fully appreciate the new set-up. Great first impression with Omega VII Pro in backhand though. Bouncy but...
  8. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Received the Xiom Omega Pro VII 2.0 for my backhand, glued the 2 rubbers (Andro Nuzn 50 2.0 and Xiom Omega Pro VII 2.0) on my Viscaria Super ALC. Total weight 185g, so only 2g heavier than my previous setup with Xiom Vega Korea Max and Donic Acuda S2 Max. Re-weigthing my naked blade it's in...
  9. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Should receive my Xiom Omega Pro 2.0 mm tomorrow and start training with my new setup (Andro Nuzn 50 2.0 in forehand, Xiom Omega Pro 2.0 in backhand) next week! Will keep you all posted about my impressions. Happy New Year!
  10. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Interesting option! From what I read it is also very light for a medium hard rubber so I might very well go with this choice. Thank you!
  11. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

I know I know hahaha. When I came back to TT 3 years ago I first refused to spend the crazy money asked by BF for their sexy blades and rubbers. But look at me now with my Viscaria SALC... T05 is for sure a valid option, thx
  12. Looking for best backhand 47.5 / 48 rubber for SALC

Hey everyone, Happy owner of a 89 g Viscaria SALC, I first tried to play it for a few months with FastArc G-1 on both sides. It was ok but as an intermediate player, I was wondering if I would not get more stable and regular by pairing it with softer rubbers, so I had a try with Xiom Vega...
  13. Super viscaria

BTW per your question about Tenergy 05 in BH, a player in my club (like 2000 TTCAN ranking) plays with SALC and T05 on both sides. I played a bit with his setup and T05 felt great in BH and FH.
  14. Super viscaria

Funny how impressions can diverge from one player to the other (and from one blade sample to the other?)... Coming from Acoustic FL SG, I bought a Viscaria SALC like 6 months ago and love pretty much everything about it. Head-heavy for sure and mine weights 88g, so to keep in mind when pairing...
  15. Xiom Vega Korea

20+ hours and some tournament matches with the Xiom Vega Korea rubber in the FH. Now that I'm used to it I can say my FH game improved notably vs when I was using G1, thanks to a feeling of improved safety and control in my shots (and maybe a bit of personal improvement?). To me the rubber is...
  16. Need Help with a New Fast Butterfly Blade

Did not play with Mizutani blades but the Viscaria SALC feels good with my kind of playstyle - close to the table, loops and flat hits, active blocking. Blocking with this blade is really amazing imo. Fast for an intermediate player, so I now pair it with Vega Korea FH and Acuda S2 backhand...
  17. Xiom Vega Korea Review

From my experience switching from Fastarc G1 to Vega Korea, G1's topsheet feels different, much less flexible.
  18. Xiom Vega Korea

6 hours with the rubber now. The shorter arc provides reliable and safe parallel loops and topspins close to the table, which is great for my game. I still need to get used to the bounciness when serving, especially on long and fast serves. But all around pretty pleased, I was starting to get...
  19. Xiom Vega Korea

VISCARIA SUPER ALC FL / XIOM VEGA KOREA MAX / DONIC ACUDA S2 MAX 187g Coming from Nittaku FastArc G1 Max on both sides, first 2 hours with Korea in FH, Acuda in BH. Variety of simple exercises and matches. Vega Korea has a sticky feel to it and although it's not tacky, it's undeniably very...
