  1. Review of XIOM Omega 8 Pro (+ Comparison with Omega 7 Pro)

Hi Community, I tested the Omega 8 Pro recently and wrote an extensive review that I have posted on my blog. I will post a summary here: Hardness: 47.5 Weight Uncut: 67g Cut to my AJH TMXi Pro blade (160x152): 50g Drive: During warmup, the feeling was very stable and controlled despite the...

yes its weird. I used only 1 thin layer of booster and 1 layer of glue. I didnt have a problem with BS in a while but that sucks in terms of QC
  3. Setup Recommendations, for bh rubber, on tmxi pro

looking for a lighter rubber that is relatively hard and balanced in its characteristics: omega 7 pro is the obvious answer mantra pro h is not that light on tmxi pro (about 52-53g) but its a very good rubber too. easy to play, does not feel too hard but provides good support for all shots. not...

Recently glued a fresh sheet of h3n blue sponge prov. 39 on my backup blade. boosted with 1 layer of haifu. It weighs 56g cut to my AJH TMXi Pro, which is 6g heavier than the H3 on my main setup. Also, the new sheet is quite alot less tacky and feels harder. The topsheet of the new sheet feels...
  5. Xiom Omega 8?

if you cut it neatly (so that no rubber extends the blade) and use a blade with a smaller head it will probably be ~3g less I cut it slightly bigger since it gives extra protection in case you hit the table + its easier to reglue
  6. Xiom Omega 8?

I finally glued the o8p on my backup AJH TMXi Pro (headsize: 160x152). Glue is rev no.3 The o8p weighs in at 51g. Keep in mind that I cut the rubber a big bigger, like 1mm. Still, in comparison to my main setup with o7p (same glue used and the sheet is also cut bigger), the o8p weights about 4g...
  7. Advice on H3 (qc issue or just the new version?)

Would be helpful to see a video of how you're playing. But it sounds like you are a good player so its probably not a technique issue. It could be that you have gotten a bad sheet. But I think Orange Sponge in general is less tacky than Blue Sponge nowadays + Orange Sponge reaches its limit...
  8. New Stiga Mantra Pro

I bought a sheet of Mantra Pro H during Aliexpress springsale for 27€ and tested it on the backhand side of my trusted AJH TMXi Pro. Without going into much detail, this is one of the best if not the best rubber in terms of price-performance. It does everything very well without excelling in...

  11. Xiom Omega 8?

I really have a hard time understanding why Vega Pro H is popular on backhand. I guess if you need a slow and controlled rubber that helps you with the passive game then its okay. But it lacks speed big time, and offers just normal amounts of spin. At that point I would just go for h3 37. slow...

I compared a 39 degree Prov. BS vs 38 degree Prov. OS yesterday on my AJH TMXi Pro blades. The BS is almost six months old and easily played over 150+ hours. The OS was brand new and freshly boosted with a thin layer of Haifu yellow. I agree with alot of what you've said. Orange Sponge is...
  13. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

Hi Arkady, congratz for your new backup blades. And yes, your observations seem right: pro has thinner core and thicker middle ply, regular version has the opposite. I am surprised you received a 84g Pro version of AJH though. I own three AJH TMXi Pro now (received my third blade today, all...
  14. Any European rubbers that can replace Hurricane?

That is so interesting. I hope you can share more about the testing procedures and the impressions that you and the player had from v15 sticky. thank you
  15. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

Personally I believe he is still playing HAL. I am just sharing what Xiom has responded to me after I contacted them
  16. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

I reached out to Xiom regarding Hugo HAL blade. They informed me that they will soon release details about the new blade that Hugo will be using moving forward (not HAL).
  17. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

Regular AJH or AJH Pro? thanks for the review
  18. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

One thing to add, there is a blog from Oscar from Nexy, another table tennis brand from Korea. He has stated recently that his blades are made in a different factory than the blades produced for Xiom. And, he said that „XIOM factory has some problems […] and I think XIOM is not happy with the...
  19. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

I‘ve heard the same. But I held their new Hugo ALX Pro blade in my hands and it used an orange fiber, which is the same color of fiber used in the HAL. The difference is that in the ALX, the orange Axylium is woven with carbon. It makes you wonder, if their Axylium is still available and blades...
  20. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

If you want the blade to come back, send Xiom a mail. who knows they might bring it back to make some cash btw, before the discontinuation of HAL, a major a shop in Germany told me that HAL was their best selling Xiom blade by far. what a blunder and missed opportunity by Xiom
