    where can we watch live/recordings?
  2. 34th ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup 2025, Shenzhen, 2/19-23

Ito vs Kuai Man rematch will be interesting. Chance for Hirano redemption against Kim Nayeong.
  3. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I always thought no coaching for same association matches was a rule enforced by international bodies to prevent match fixing.
  4. new ITTF regulations that modify the traditional point-scoring system

At this rate matches will be shortened to just a coin toss.
  5. JTTA Selection Trial for ATTC 2026 and WTTC Continental Stage 2027, 5/26-27

Ito is too used to giving up/getting frustrated when the going gets tough, even during her peak. It will take a lot to undo that habit at this stage of her career.
  6. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Even 11 points is way too fast sometimes. 7 is absolutely nuts. 15 seems like a happy middle ground between old and new format but completely opposite to what WTT is going for.
  7. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

QTY is probably the best litmus test for Ito, from an opponent she could literally swat aside, to losing in the decider, to blanking out against. Also a great way for her to mount a comeback seeing how Singapore Smash 2023 was also when she first lost to QTY. (SS 2022 loss against YJN was the...
  8. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Shin Yubin and SYS are probably tied for number of Olympic matches since they entered and reached the medal rounds for all three events. Ito is the only other player who has ever achieved that. Even Hayata Tomozaku, and Mitzutani didn't manage to do the same. Plus reaching her seeding position...
  9. Pro Player Switches To Anti-Spin | Sabine Winter | TTDCast #25

Really cool interview, thanks TTD team! Sabine is a really fun person to hear from as well. Not sure if the team managed to get Sabine to share more off camera or if I missed it but did she elaborate on why she eventually chose anti over long pimples?
  10. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

We'll get to see more of Winter playing in doubles, although drawing Odo/Yokoi in R16 means they'll need a big upset to go further. Pairing with Liu Yangzi isn't a bad idea though since she's used to pairing with her long pip twiddler compatriot Jee Minhyung.
  11. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I recall cross national pairs on ITTF pro tours as well.
  12. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I don't think they've played each other with Winter's new set up that much. But WTT should definitely explore separation by association for round 1 at the very least.
  13. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Nina can't find any rhythm at all against Winter. Helped by some net cords and umpire disruptions. G2: umpire still disrupting with technical faults. Referee comes by and motions with her hand and the problem is solved? Lol? Winter seems to be having her own problems stepping around and...
  14. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

She was very lucky. Balazova was faulted at 9-7. Ironically when Wan won last year she had two service mistakes in the decider.
  15. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Balazova got her revenge. Wan won 17-15 in qualifiers R1 decider last year after trailing 1-7. This time Balazova came out at deuce in the fifth again.
  16. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Expanded roster allows more continental representation while keeping the difficulty high enough. OTOH, Hirano won't have the luxury of not caring about world ranking anymore since there are four players ahead of her. She will have to reach semifinals at Asian Cup herself, or hope that one of her...
  17. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Jeon Jihee faces SYB in the first round. I thought she retired? Lee Eunhye and JCH are also present even though Lee is the only one in KNT at least according to selection rules. Hirano road to QF: Minhyung Jee (another Aussie) > DHK > Odo Ito: Kim Nayeong (close match last year) > Orawan > QTY...
  18. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

5 to 8 are also semifinalists at all Japan 2025
  19. 2025 All Japan (Emperor's/Empress's Cup) 1/21-1/26

Ito had it relatively easy in 2022. Only notable opponent was Shibata in R5 (4-0). Received a walkover against Kihara in semis as opposed to Hayata who 4-3ed Kato in the other half.
