  1. Review of the STIGA Mantra Rubber

I measured a sheet with a Shore O Durometer at 46°, so I suspect it is supposed to be 45°
  2. Tibhar el-s

I found the EL-S tends to chip a bit more easily than MX-P and shows marks from use a bit sooner, but this does not seem to effect how it plays very much
  3. Leaked Photos: New rubber colours on blades!

I don't really have any objections to introducing different colours, but I don't think any of the examples look that good.
  4. Donic Bluefire Big Slam

I have used Donic M3, JP03 and Acuda Blue P3 on an Innerforce ALC, but all in Max and on my backhand. I have also tried Bluestorm Bigslam in 2.1 but on a different blade. I haven't tried Bluefire Bigslam. Interestingly I found the durability on the JP03 to be the best by a long way. I didn't...
  5. New Table Tennis Equipment 2019

Looks like the Tibhar Hybrid K1J is harder than the Euro version at 52.5 degree and has a cream coloured sponge http://www.sanei-net.co.jp/brand/tibhar/product.html#k1j
  6. Spinlord Marder IV

I've not tried Marder IV, but I did use III for a while, which was very soft, quite slow and had a tacky topsheet, basically an allround/defensive rubber. I understand the sponge on IV is harder and faster, but I suspect it will still be quite different from JP03 or Vega Europe because of the...
  7. Daiki Rubber No More?

Has anyone got any further information on this? I have noticed a few Daiki made rubbers such as Joola Samba 19 and the Stiga Airoc series seem to be unavailable in some variations at a lot of suppliers and I wondered if this was connected. Thanks
  8. Timo Boll posts new photos of his rubbers and blades

The weight given for rubbers seem to include the packaging. I don't see the logic of weighing rubber in the packaging, when a slight variance in the size of the rubber or the packaging itself could be responsible for the weight difference.
  9. Butterfly inner force alc

The Innerforce ZLC had the 158x151mm head size, which was reduced to 157x150mm when it changed to the innerforce layer, but the Innerforce ALC was already 157x150mm so hasn't changed.
  10. Butterfly inner force alc

Butterfly list the Innerforce Layer ALC as 6mm thick, but listed the old Innerforce ALC as 5.9mm. I suspect they are actually the same thickness as the difference is due to rounding up or down. The handle now has a metal name plate instead of a plastic lens.
  11. Rubber thickness for FH and BH

After a lot of trial and error I've ended up using slightly thinner rubbers (1.9/2.0mm) on my forehand and 2.1mm/max on my backhand. I assume this works for me due to the bigger forehand stroke. Like many people I also use a harder rubber on my forehand.
  12. Xiom Ice Cream blades, AZX Review

I am a bit confused over the "balance" issue. I'm not sure exactly what Xiom mean by this, as other asymmetric blades do not feel unbalanced in terms of weight distribution and even having rubbers of a radically different weight on either side does not feel that strange. Did they mean balanced...
  13. Suggestion on Blade please

It's the other way around, the Ai Fukuhara is 157x150mm and is 5.8mm thick, the Liu Shiwen is 158x152mm and 5.6mm thick. They are both innerforce type: Limba-Limba-ZLF-Ayous-ZLF-Limba-Limba
  14. LF Fastarc G1

I've also purchased rubbers from them a couple of times with no issues
  15. What are some of the best light set-up you've tried?

A lot of blades made by Soulspin, both under their own name and for other brands, can be quite light. I have a Gewo Königsklasse Karbon Sieben that is only 73g and although I would normally choose something at least 10g heavier, it plays absolutely fine.
  16. Tibhar Hybrid K1 European Version

The tackiness seems the same as any other ESN tacky rubber. Compared to Joola Golden Tango PS, the Tibhar seemed slightly more flexible when handling the rubber before glueing. They both measured exactly the same hardness at 50° Shore O. The Joola would probably be slightly lighter at the same...
  17. Butterfly domination

I would like to know how they accounted for players that use two different brand rubbers. e.g. DHS on the forehand and Butterfly on the backhand The total percentages add up to 100% .............
  18. Stiga Genesis II

I measured Genesis II M at 49° on the Shore O scale. The only H3N I had to compare it with was a used sheet of H3Neo provincial 37° orange sponge, which had had one layer of Falco Long Temp when it was new. This measured very slightly softer at approx 47 or 48°, but if anything the Genesis II...
  19. Less bouncy and more linear alternative to tenergy 80

I would say that the Tenergy sponge is closer to rubbers that are labeled as 47.5 on the ESN scale, or at least the couple that I have tried have been. Mantra M is not that far off to Tenergy hardness, but definitely on the softer side. Medium as opposed to medium/hard maybe?
  20. Less bouncy and more linear alternative to tenergy 80

I've used Nexy Karis M, Stiga Mantra M and S and TSP Regalis Red. They are all similar, made by Daiki in Japan for the various manufacturers. The Stiga Mantra is my favorite, it just seems a tiny bit better than the TSP in almost every respect and is also a little lighter. The 'M' version is...
