  1. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I don’t have any inside knowledge/source, but I did some more digging and it’s looking like Hugo to Joola rumors are true…
  2. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Yes, Monteiro is still the national coach. But Hugo’s personal coach is Paco.
  3. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

This year he still wasn’t the official coach, so he only went to the ones he could. Hugo officially announced him starting next year, so he should be on all competitions for 2026
  4. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Vitor pretty much retired from the international scene so he is working as Hugo's sparring partner. Hugo's official coach is Paco (Francisco Arado).
  5. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Unfortunately, I don’t think it will help us that much. He gave it as a gift to an influencer, but it’s a mini “ping pong” kit from his brand. The design looks like his XIOM blades, but it’s probably just a cheap pre-made racket. We should get more news as the new year approaches.
  6. Felix Lebrun Serves

    Hmmmmm
  7. WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025, 12/10-14

Is the walkout a procedure? Couldn't they just have announced it earlier and not made the players enter the arena
  8. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I'm no blade expert but it looks pretty identical to Andro Synteliac VCI
  9. WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025, 12/10-14

Adam said it was a back injury? If I heard right
  10. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Wata is very close to Marcos Yamada who is a long-time Butterfly representative in Brazil. I would guess BTY was the one that offered and got turned down.
  11. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

The prototype he is using has green carbon fiber. I only know Andro, Stiga, and Thibar blades that have it…not sure about the rest
  12. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

If XIOM loses Hugo to Joola, it’s time to close down the business 🤣
  13. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025, Chengdu, 11/30-12/7

Do you have a guess about what it could be? Would it be more related to the number of players required and the possible singles/doubles configurations? I don’t see them changing the first to 8 pts format and each game counting as a point instead of the whole match.
  14. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Hugo moving to Butterfly is probably what makes the most sense for both parties. I hope Hugo continues having unique game shirts like he did with XIOM. The current Butterfly ones are a bit bland lol
  15. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I wasn’t really believing the rumor, but after seeing the 2026 XIOM catalogue, it seems to indicate that he’s leaving, right? No photo or even a name mention of the company’s star player. It’s unfortunate, because I really liked their partnership. Hugo to DHS would be very interesting...
  16. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I can't say anything about the other stuff, but I don't think him having DHS tables on his new club means he is leaving Xiom. He put the DHS tables and balls because those will be used in major tournaments. He probably just wants the best quality + best tournament setting adaptation for whenever...
  17. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025, Chengdu, 11/30-12/7

Agreed. It should be at least three. I'm imagining the Olympics. If teams adopt this strategy of using two men and two women, the main players will end up in a marathon of games, especially if they also sign up for the doubles events. It seems counterintuitive, too. The "goal" is to achieve...
  18. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025, Chengdu, 11/30-12/7

I think France would have done better against Germany if they had played Gauzy and Pavade in mixed doubles, with Jia Nan Yuan as the singles player. It seemed inevitable that Winter would beat Pavade 3–0. But would that have forced Lutz to play women’s doubles? I’m not sure what to think about...
  19. New Format - Team Preview of ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025,

I wanted to put South Korea on S tier, but Japan is way better for them to share that tier. Korea doesn't seem as strong without doubles specialist Lim Jong-Hoon and a good 2nd women's player. I think India has the potential to be a good team in future years but it is still too early. Brazil...
  20. Anders Lind accusing ITTF

Anyone knows what he is talking about? Is it about next year’s Team World Championship?
