  1. DHS fans unite!

I'm talking about compared to the old hurricane rubbers. People always post how the new ones are not as "sticky" as the old ones. Like out of the package, they used to be looking almost glossy...at least from what i saw in the pictures. now they come out of the package and they are tacky...but...
  2. DHS fans unite!

its not sticky but it retains the playing property forever. mine is 6 months old, boosted twice, and still plays pretty great. thinking of doing a 3rd boosting lol. yes this! Do you think its worth the price (almost double)? is the regular DJ40 seamed too? those are definitely my favorite balls...
  3. DHS fans unite!

anyone try the new DHS tournament balls yet?
  4. Dignics 09c longevity

i just realized ive been using my D09C since the end of last october and its still performing pretty good for my backhand. i mostly use for blocking and countering though. not crazy loops or anything but the rubber is still pretty tacky. the only worn down part is where i put my thumb.
  5. On receiving serve, why the receivers are always squatting low, eye level on the net, but when the opponent toss the ball, the receiver stand up?

we are all weak haha. When I first started doing this my serve return was worse because its it takes a bit to get used to the timing, but after a few hours and a few sessions its way better and my serve return has increased exponentially.
  6. Finally grasped the essence of table tennis biomechanical principle Chinese style! (Chain reaction of power from the ground) (UPDATED AGAIN)

16 in a row!! woohoo. might take OP a while before he gets to that level of consistency. then he will be smashing it up in match play :D
  7. On receiving serve, why the receivers are always squatting low, eye level on the net, but when the opponent toss the ball, the receiver stand up?

It's actually more of a physics thing...at least the stepping part is. Getting low allows you to anticipate the contact, and making that first step while your opponent tosses the ball up gets your body in motion and allows you to take the necessary second step to be in position for either a...
  8. Finally grasped the essence of table tennis biomechanical principle Chinese style! (Chain reaction of power from the ground) (UPDATED AGAIN)

for sure man! and be willing to adjust as needed. I have my "proper" stroke but in a match, sometimes i'm bent backwards still having to do a forehand. or i'm out of position in another way. or its more of a counter. There's a lot of nuance and different techniques within a technique. For me...
  9. Finally grasped the essence of table tennis biomechanical principle Chinese style! (Chain reaction of power from the ground) (UPDATED AGAIN)

are you saying you need to be able to hit 50 strokes in a row at full power? I can see it from a consistency and a stamina point of view..... but i'm just a hobby player. i feel like if you can hit 80% power for a minute straight in a drill and make 70-80% of your shots, thats pretty darn...
  10. What is the most important area to jump from 1900 to 2100?

I mostly agree with you again. I'm not saying all of my serves are perfect when I practice, I'm saying I *personally* notice that my serves are worse in a match. I have some really good serves in a match too. Heck, I could even be serving pretty good for a whole match but then when it comes down...
  11. What is the most important area to jump from 1900 to 2100?

hmmm those are good points and I actually agree with a lot of what you said, but I think you could also flip the scenario just as easy. For example, in practice, my serves are almost always low and spinny. In a match, when the mental aspect comes into play, I tend to make more errors on my serve...
  12. What is the most important area to jump from 1900 to 2100?

I can't contribute to the answers because i'm only around 1700...but don't you think tactics would also be an important category as well? I feel like at a certain level, the physical and techniques are so close that the real separation comes from the mental aspects of the game. I could be...
  13. Your best double's serve tactics?

I've noticed that many of the pros, the person who is getting the 3rd ball calls the serve, not the actual server. I'm pretty comfortable doing nearly all times of serves. Definitely have some that are better than others, but I would be OK with my partner calling out what serve I should do.
  14. Your best double's serve tactics?

lol we have signals for: Deadspin, topspin, underspin and short serve or long serve Partner is pretty good. USATT 2000. Kinda rusty from an injury that kept him from training hard these last couple years but still at least 1800 as a player.
  15. Does training with a certain ball matter?

such an important point. The locals at my club only want to play nittaku balls. but what happens if they go to a tournament and the offical ball is xiom or DHS? not smart to only be able to play with one type of ball.
  16. Your best double's serve tactics?

Hey y'all. I got asked to play in a doubles event at an upcoming tournament. I rarely play doubles (for one, I already hate losing, so if my partner is the reason we lose, then i won't like my partner and thats not cool lol, also, if i'm the reason we lose, i would have let down my partner and...
  17. Pongbot Nova S Pro owners' review and discussion thread

I also wanted a break after the ball sequence. the ability to turn it off and on for each custom drill would be great.
  18. Dear H3 users, do you ever get frustrated?

If I win a match, it's because i hit more good shots than bad shots. if i'm hitting a lot of bad shots, i'm not happy. but if i hit a lot of good shots and win my match, i am happy. With my hurricane, if i hit too many shots into the net, i start second guessing if i need to reboost lol. but i...
