  1. Stiga Cybershape Wood Review

I've got a 79g Acoustic, a 84g Acoustic SG and a 90g Acoustic LG. 79 feels like All+, 84 feels like OFF- and 90g LG feels like a solid OFF. The further from the table you play the more noticeable is the difference in speed/power. The lightest one also feels more head-heavy than the other...
  2. What's the weight of your setup and what's the ideal weight of your setup?

83-84g blades and 181-184g rackets, that's the ideal to me and that's what I'm currently using. I've been using anything from 179 to 191 before.
  3. Backhand rubber vega x ?

I have Vega X and Rakza Z on one of my rackets, that I sometimes train with, and these two rubbers are worlds apart, to a degree that it gets uncomfortable. RZ is much slower and you have to generate speed, and this transition is not easy to me when your FH rubber is so fast and has so much...
  4. Advice for new Nittaku blade

Hardly a reference chart. I have Acoustic, Violin and Ludeack, and no way Violin is softer than Acu, it is also just a bit slower, but not that much. Ludeack is faster and a bit harder, not softer.
  5. Inner Carbon blade as an "upgrade"?

The confusion might be probably because there are two F3s. The old one had kiri core and different type of carbon, I don't remember which one exactly. It was replaced years ago with the new F3 which is ayous and Alrylate carbon, if memory serves me right, and it plays differently.
  6. What table tennis rubbers & blade do you use?

Two years on, and I have just ordered the same exact combo - out of sheer curiosity. Currently playing with Acoustic/ Gold Arc 8 both sides.
  7. D05/Acoustic

Have you tried GoldArc 8 with your Acoustic?
  8. Dignics 05 vs Xiom Vega X

Coming from D05 to G1 on BH would be quite a shock, because G1 topsheet, in contrast to D05, is slippery on a thin contact and you need to engage the sponge to get it controlled. So BH flicks, bananas, backspin lifting could require a lot of adjustment. I'd rather go for Vega X or, even better...
  9. D05/Acoustic

Has anyone played with Acoustic/Dignics 05 ? what are your thoughts on this combo?
  10. Fastarc G-1 vs V>15 extra on backhand

    DHS Gold Arc 8 (47.5)
  11. New Allround (+) 5-ply blade - Which one to choose?

YSE is IMHO a very nice, controlled and well-balanced blade, but I always felt that it lacked gears for your attacking style. A light, smith like 78-80 g, Nittaku Acoustic would be a wonderful option. It is super controlled, very spinny and has much more gears. It's rated as OFF but a light...
  12. Rubber that comes closest to Rakza 7

The rubber that is not expensive at all these days and feels like a natural progression from R7 is DHS Gold Arc 8. It is about the same hardness, and in a way feels similar. But it is more grippy, has more speed and spin, throw angle is higher, so you will need to close the bat more. It's...
  13. Rubber Suggestions

G-1 won't be easier to control than M1 or M2, as it's a fast aggressive tensor. But Rakza 7 has good control and it's not too fast, not too spinny and not too sensitive to incoming spin. It's kind of a do-it-all attacking hybrid rubber you can't go wrong with if you technique is half decent...
  14. 5 ply blades - a few observations on my three..

I couldn't have asked for a better comparison. Thank you kindly for taking the time to answer my questions. From your description and from the pictures it really seems like the SG handle is very similar to the Fextra. You're welcome. And obviously it's not flair but flare, but I think you've...
  15. 5 ply blades - a few observations on my three..

They are pretty much similar in size, the difference being more about the shape. With all Acoustic FL handles you don't feel much flare compared to other brands. With SG FL the flare is not as pronounced as with Fextra or YSE. Compared to Fextra, SG feels a bit fatter/rounder and more straight...
  16. 5 ply blades - a few observations on my three..

I have a 84g Fextra7 and it's a wonderful blade, with great feel, speed, excellent handle and balance. Combination with 2 mm Rakza 10 is magical. For 20USD it's a steal. Of all blades I tried the feel is second to Acoustic only and maybe Stiga Azalea. I have a 84 g Yasaka Sweden Extra - it's a...
