Got my newest blade yesterday and just gave it a coat of sealer this morning. I will glue on my standard rubbers in the afternoon and play it at the club on Wednesday. Then I can already make the decision " Keeper or bin".

Why spend good money and then ask for trouble by not sealing ?

This is the japanese way. Never admit to any faults in the system. Keep exposing them and pester them ,when they finally give in, they will come to you bearing gifts, on their knees apologizing profusely 😂

A little hint for those who like to experiment with weights in the handles: Use double sided sticky-tape to glue the handles back on before using the actual glue to make it "final".

Wow, I thought the HC-1S with the ALC might be the pocket rocket of the four. For myself I gather the HC -5 might be best with just 2 layers of soft carbon it comes closest to my Razer L8, at least on paper.

I would not bother. After playing with several "combi-blades" I dismissed them as a fad. I still play a DHS Hurricane G which is a great fast blade but really it is the different rubbers we have on both sides that makes 95 % of the difference .

If you decide to sand back the sealant it should be done using a "block". There is nothing wrong with these blades.
