  1. V14 Pro vs Viscaria

A lot of people recommend the Yinhe V14 Pro as a good blade close to Viscaria. Indeed it has the same structure and same look, but maybe slightly thicker. However, after playing with the V14 Pro more, and comparing it to a mate's Viscaria, actually I have found they really don't feel very...
  2. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

Anybody else feel like TT companies are introducing new rubber series too quickly? It makes it hard for me to understand what role the new rubber series are supposed to fill. For Example Xiom recently has Jekyl and Hyde series. They already have the Omega line which is supposedly their flagship...
  3. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05

I just tested around these 2 rubbers on a mate's rackets. It was D05 on LGY alc and T05 on Carbanado 290. Butterfly lists D05 as faster, but from my hitting, i found the Tenergy was quite a bit faster. Which rubber is really faster? Is the blade what is making the T05 seem faster?

  6. Advice for returning awkward serves

A mate I play with often does the same serve that is very awkward for me to return. From the southpaw corner, he attempts to do a underspin, fast, short serve to my forehand near the net. (actually I think he serves inside the table to get the angle, but that's another story). Anyway, this...
  7. Which foot do you step forward with to flick?

When you step forward to do FH or BH flick near the net, is it considered proper technique to step forward with your left foot or right foot? (assuming right-handed player)
  8. Boosted H3 vs Boosted H3N?

Is there a difference between boosting a H3 sheet vs boosting a H3Neo sheet that shows up in the final performance of the rubber? H3N is supposedly factory boosted, so would boosting H3 with 3 layers end up with the same performance as a H3N sheet with 2 layers?
  9. So many Pro's using D09c now

https://yarilog.com/equipment-world-men/ I was just browsing this list of top players equipment, and there seems to be a clear trend towards more tacky rubbers. All the Chinese top players seem to have switched to tacky rubber on BH side, either H3 or D09c. And other top players are using...
  10. Difference dhs h3n vs nittaku h3?

What is the difference between dhs h3n and nittaku h3? Im currently using the nittaku h3 orange, which was given to me many years ago. I actually dont like it, because i feel the rubber doesnt adequately grip and lift the ball. Im often adjusting my loop stroke more upwards to try to lift the...
  11. MZ Match Video, more opening up

Feel free to give any advice, comments, stats, whatever! Based mostly on Carl's advice from last time, I attempt more open ups
  12. Have you ever gotten rubbers from bad batch?

In another thread I discussed how absurdly soft my HK1997 Gold sheet is. Listed at 49 degree, it literally feels like 38 degree. Very soft sponge. This seller says "Tacky Chinese table tennis rubber with offensive properties. Classic rubber from Palio, with similar properties as DHS Hurricane 3...
  13. Do 40 hardness rubbers weight more than 39/38?

Does a harder rubber (such as H3N in 40 degree) weigh more than the same rubber in 39/38 degree? In grams, how much of a difference is it?
  14. Anybody tried boosting original Bryce?

I have a new sheet of the original Bryce that somebody randomly gave me 5 years ago. I tried hitting with it, and its very very slow/dead. It is nothing like modern rubbers (even Chinese rubbers are bouncier). Has anybody tried boosting this rubber and how did it turn out? I put 1 layer of...
  15. Sanwei Target China

I randomly came across this really badass looking purple sponge rubber. The rich purple porous sponge on the black topsheet just looks really glorious. Can somebody translate what the advertising is trying to say? Is it supposed to be a hybrid rubber with a imported elastic sponge...
  16. Is outer alc blade considered better for blocking?

I know that there tends to be the impression that outer alc blades are better for close to table player, while inner alc/zlc blades are better for looping play. In recent months, I have been playing with inner zlc blade to emphasize looping play. Against my recent opponents, I am often put on...
  17. What's considered heavy for a racket?

I was playing with a pair of rubber on a 88g blade, and the overall racket blade felt just right. Not too heavy, and not too light. Today I switched the same 2 rubbers to a 93g blade (V14 Pro) and the total weight is now 199g. I didn't weigh my original setup, but it must have weighed 194g. 5g...
  18. How do you return high, spinny, slow opening loops?

Today, I missed so many returns against high, slow, spinny opening loops. This shot is really hard to return. What is the right way to return this shot? Should you hit the ball off the bounce when the ball is low? Or should you wait for the ball to come up so you have more angle to work with...
