  1. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

I like the Sanwei CC, which is why I bought one each for the whole family, but it's not my favorite.
  2. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

I've looked at the Black Knight 7, but my issue with it is the weight. I prefer my blades to be around 90 grams, and both of the ones you mentioned come in well below that, unfortunately.
  3. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

I have not. I was under the impression they were virtually the same thing with the Pro version being made with slightly higher quality wood. Is that not correct?
  4. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

I'm sure DHS does make good blades, but they're still more than double the price of a lot of XVT blades for the "same" thing. If I'm rolling the dice, I'd rather only risk $26 instead of $60.
  5. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

Interesting. So all of their koto ALC blades also have koto as the third layer? I also have my eyes on their DHS 301 clone (XVT Rage) which has an inner kevlar carbon construction.
  6. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

That's good to hear especially considering their super low selling prices. Which XVT models do you have experience with?

  8. Anyone play with the XVT ALC Dragon

I currently own a Yinhe V14 Pro which is pretty fast. I've read the Yinhe Pro-01 is slightly slower, and closer to the Viscaria, due to the slightly thicker koto outer layer. I was thinking about picking one up to try but then came across the XVT ALC Dragon which also appears to have outer ALC...
  9. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

Your Pro V5 is only 71 grams?!?! I didn't think they came that light. My Pro V5 is 94 grams which makes it my heaviest blade. My V14 Pro is about 90g, my Pro 13S is 91g and the lightest one is the Stiga Allround Classic at 79g. I much prefer heavier blades (around the 90 gram mark).
  10. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

Maybe I'll just hold tight for a minute. So far I have a 5 play all wood (Stiga), 7 ply all wood (Pro V5), inner carbon (CC), outer carbon (V14 Pro), and both inner and outer (13S).
  11. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

My blade journey so far has been: Stiga All-round Classic (way too underpowered for the 40+ plastic balls)> Sanwei Pro V5 (felt like I had more power AND control over the Stiga)> Yinhe V14 Pro> Yinhe Pro 13S. I've also purchased Sanwei CCs for both of my kids and my wife. Every time I go back...
  12. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

I may or may not already have a Yinhe V14 Pro and Yinhe Pro 13S....😳
  13. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

Ok, in that case I might skip it. Not sure I want to go any slower than the Pro V5.
  14. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

I already have 3 Sanwei CCs. Great blade for the money.
  15. 7 ply all wood Sanwei blades

Has anyone here played with both the Sanwei Fextra and Sanwei Pro V5? I already own the Pro V5 and am curious how it compares to the Fextra. The $20 price tag on the Fextra it's calling my name, but I don't my want to spend the money if the playing characteristics of the blades are close.
  16. Just got a Sanwei CC for $12

In not sure about Michael, but I ordered mine from AliExpress. Currently, you can get them as cheap as $11.70 US with free shipping. I paid a little more than that for my last two ($12.74) because I prefer my blades to be around 90 grams and none of the sellers that had them at the slightly...
  17. Just got a Sanwei CC for $12

It's quite an amazing blade for the price. One thing I'm going to do when I get the time is to sand the wings down a good bit. They come down further than on my other blades making it feel a little uncomfortable on my middle finger.
  18. Just got a Sanwei CC for $12

Yeah, I COULD do that, but then I wouldn't have an excuse to buy another blade 😈
  19. Just got a Sanwei CC for $12

It's hard for me to say, Michael, because the rubbers on all the Sanwei CCs (Sanwei Ultra Spin T-88) are softer than what I use on my blades (Mercury 2). The only way for me to accurately compare the blades is by using the same rubbers on both. Heck, for only $12 maybe I should get one for...
