  1. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2024 July 2-7

atm he has only lost to Kazuki Yoshiyama at the teams event, that should say sth about his formidability. Yesterday he even won a Korean 3rd player 3-0 with the final set being 23-21
  2. WTT Contender Tunis 2024 6/25-6/30

best non-(CNT,Togami,Lebrun brothers) player lmao. But on a side note, do you have any info on Togami withdrawal from the two final wtt tournament before the Olympics, did he run into some health complication or just withdraw for closed training?
  3. WTT Contender Tunis 2024 6/25-6/30

Players with great forehand is harder to come by than those with good backhand, but since Japanese tt philosophy is speed over everything it's understandable why BH is more favorable. To me Uda is a lone samurai from now on lol, I hope he can find a good coach to develop his playstyle further...
  4. WTT Contender Tunis 2024 6/25-6/30

In the last two sets, for a moment I've seen the glimpse of that 2019 Uda's forehand coming back. Dude pulled a Ma Long on Shinozuka, completely locked away his backhand and set up deadly forehand attacks. Please Japan, make more forehand-oriented player like Uda
  5. WTT Contender Tunis 2024 6/25-6/30

I think it's because Uda did a lot of short arc loops against backspin to open the rally. Simon by instinct often fell back expecting those loops to go deep but due to them being short he couldn't defend well thus causing the return to have high bounce for Uda to push him far away from the table
  6. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2024 06/11-16

her consistency is starting to look more and more like a Chinese player comparing to her peers
  7. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2024 06/11-16

he's making the scenario where Japan activates his P-card in the team event more and more plausible. Although all his recent match (except for the lost against Cho DS) were uphill battles, he's proving his tenacity when being pushed to the corner. He has a clear intention when serving, he knows...
  8. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2024 06/11-16

Actually I think letting Sora take a longer road can be beneficial. He has more time to grow under less pressure and complete his tactics, LA 2028 should be his main stage rather than Paris
  9. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2024 06/11-16

I'm so freaking done with Togami rn, how many more times does he have to set every single one of his points with his backhand? Clearly Falk wasn't afraid of backhand exchanges, when Togami pulled his forehand out he at least had some advantages and the hit rate improve, down the line shot also...
  10. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2024 06/11-16

his forehand has been in a good state recently, I hope this isn't a once in a blue moon thing. The reason Kao, Togami and Felix lose was because their forehand wasn't good enough to finish the point once Alexis start to fall back.
  11. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Well, Alexis completely outplayed Togami, he only let the 4th game slipped because of a service error. Everything else was perfect especially rallying and lobbing. Togami's forehand has been unstable throughout this tournament, monotonous receiving pattern, high error-rate backhand flick...
  12. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Yeah, I also felt Harimoto doesn't look for a win this time, maybe he wants to opt out to take a rest rather than pulling another final against Lebrun This's the first time I saw Togami losing all the forehand exchanges, Harimoto was able to create arcs and adding sidespin to widen the angle...
  13. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

She can't even hit a long forehand stroke properly but somehow decided to go with Long V, it hinders her game compared to her old Victas blade
  14. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Shinozuka stops at the 2nd qualifying round to Picard, same problem as Togami against Ovtcharov. He can't fully return the backhand serve well and got caught in Picard's game
  15. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

I rewatch that point and can't figure out how CCY though it hit the edge, prolly old people vision kicking in
  16. My experience with Chinese rubbers

soft rubbers get your ball feeling up much quicker than hard rubbers, so they often do that to shorten their warmup time
  17. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

and being a JNT core, it's even crazier to think that either nobody in the coaching staff has pointed out this deadly mindset, or Togami himself is too stubborn to change. Somehow being the core member with the lowest adaptability doesn't even alarm him one bit. Recently, I've watched more of...
  18. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

that doesn't even justify now that Harimoto has won him twice this year
  19. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

yeah, I'm finally convinced, Togami will forever be an above average player. Decent forehand and backhand but zero ability to read the game and adapt to the opponent. It's sad how most Japanese players rise quickly before 20 and become so stagnant afterwards
  20. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

damn Togami is kneeling quite quickly before Dima, how much serve receive practice did he do? he almost has no answer
