Hl5x is more or less something in between an outer alc and an Innerforce type like hl5 or wang chuqin. Therefore: if you want something a little more controlled, but still with harder and more linear feeling, then go for hl5x. If you want something totally different, go for hl5 or wang chuqin

I agree with hl5x when coming from alc outer blade. It is a smoother transition than a hl5, which is much more different

I am currently testing it on a quite slow and low weight Viscaria. It is a relatively slow rubber with high throw and good speed. It is easier to play than v20 DE with less power and speed
