  1. What's a good blade for CPEN: SP FH and RPB BH

Yeah Spectol is not very spinny. If you want spinny pips I'd recommend using Ma Lin Extra Offensive. Green Goblin is ok, doesn't have the same touch as Ma Lin but it's a bit faster. Not sure why you're set on a combi blade -- they're for a pretty niche demographic. Can't really recommend any...
  2. My $1000+ setup, my opinions on Golden Viscaria + Zyre 03 2.7mm

I, as as 1600 player, could not tell the difference between Viscaria and golden Viscaria -- one member of my university team used to be ranked #3 in USA, plays with golden Viscaria + H3 + D09c and he let me try it. It felt good for sure, maybe a bit better than the market version I tried from my...
  3. What's a good blade for CPEN: SP FH and RPB BH

Ah, I stand corrected, my bad. It looks like TSP Spinpips became Victas D1, D2, and D3. Mystery III is good. If you can find the soft sponge version of 802-40 then that's even better. Otherwise I think the way to get the best performance out of Mystery III is to boost with Falco Tempo Long. In...
  4. What's a good blade for CPEN: SP FH and RPB BH

Best way to learn how to twiddle: sit down and watch your favorite TV show and twiddle your racket the whole time. You'll learn how to twiddle very quickly. AK47 is not a very spinny rubber, you may want to try something with more arc and friction, like Yinhe Big Dipper. AK47 is almost like a...
  5. What's a good blade for CPEN: SP FH and RPB BH

Honestly I never found a spinny pips that I liked more than 802-40 or thought was a better deal. Get the soft version if you can, or you can boost it with Falco Tempo Long to make the sponge softer. Spinlord Killer Soft is interesting, it lets you play a balance of attack and defense. I'd pair...
  6. What's a good blade for CPEN: SP FH and RPB BH

I played SP penhold for a while, there were two setups which I found to feel very good: 1. Clipper + Spectol (or other low-friction pips) 2. Ma Lin Extra Offensive + 802-40 (or other spinny short pips) The first setup worked really nicely for hitting fast, and the soft stiff blade gave more...
  7. use outer carbon.... DO IT NOW !!!

If you play with a hardwood blade like YEO or Rosewood, this is even more resistant to moisture than the koto outer layer of a Viscaria. My YEO is 10 years old with no sign of moisture damage. Therefore everyone should switch to hardwood.
  8. How to remove glue

I use 2 or 3 layers on the sponge, and I let it dry for several hours (even up to a day) before putting it on. I also use booster, so maybe that is making a difference. I haven't had problems with it even on soft cake sponge for Tenergy, etc.
  9. Hybrid rubber to replace Mark 5

If you want a good rubber on a budget, Yinhe Big Dipper is among the best you can get. Highly recommend. Yinhe and Loki brands generally have the best quality for cheap rubbers. Loki Rxton 3 (pink and blue) and Rxton 5 (all colors including black) are also great quality for the money, and...
  10. Hybrid rubber to replace Mark 5

Neither Rakza 7 nor Vega Intro are particularly spinny. "forgiving" is a poorly defined concept but I would say Rakza 7 is generally pretty forgiving. If you want something spinny, go for Rakza Z. I would also say that Rakza Z is pretty forgiving -- not too fast, and very controllable in the...
  11. Lower level player (sub 1400) using ALC + 09C vs more controlled equipment?

I play with penhold, which is naturally a more open grip. I also take the ball late in rallies, often level with / under the table. This makes it much more comfortable for me to play with a low-throw rubber. Even pros who play with D09c don't play loops with an open racket. The high throw angle...
  12. Lower level player (sub 1400) using ALC + 09C vs more controlled equipment?

If you can play strong shots with the backhand, just get Hurricane 3 Neo both sides, with Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive.
  13. Xuperman X1 vs. Stiga Dynasty Carbon

I know which one Xu Xin uses, so I think that speaks for itself. If Xu Xin switches then I'll consider switching.
  14. Hybrid rubber to replace Mark 5

This is true, but Mark V is a pretty slow rubber to begin with so probably not a huge difference in speed. Rakza Z would probably have similar speed. Rakza 7 would be an increase in speed.
  15. Hybrid rubber to replace Mark 5

Hybrid rubber is very different from Mark V, so the adjustment period will be long. Most hybrid rubbers are expensive and not so durable, so will require frequent replacement. For this reason they may not be the best option. I'd recommend Rakza 7 or Rakza X if you're looking for a step up in...
  16. I want to buy A DHS Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge from tabletennis11

Sounds like you want Provincial Hurricane 3 Neo Provincial version is good enough. National version is a waste of money unless you're an extremely good player. Do you have your own booster? If not, you definitely want the "Neo" version, which means it's lightly boosted at the factory...
  17. Equipment Help

Hybrid rubbers generally do not have a long lifespan. D09c has a better lifespan than most hybrids -- it loses its top performance within a week or two, but it is still playable at like 80% quality for several months. D09c is also quite a big change from Hurricane and will take time to adjust...
  18. I am a TPB-only player for now. Out of curiosity, is it easier to do TPB with Cpen or Jpen?

This is an effective flick sometimes, but you can only do it against light spin. Heavy spin will go into the net -- it's not truly a banana flick because you can't get under the ball from the left side (assuming right-handed). The best you can get is maybe on the top left side if you have a...
  19. I am a TPB-only player for now. Out of curiosity, is it easier to do TPB with Cpen or Jpen?

Wow, I was not looking closely and it looked like this guy was playing rpb. Really incredible power and stroke.
  20. Good FH rubbers for YEO

I've managed to find national TG2 on rare occasions (I think this is the real national supply, not the "national" version of the rubber), but it is becoming rarer. Provincial TG2 is almost as good. Get 40 degrees if you want to boost it, especially since FTL makes the sponge significantly...
