I have used a mild solution of a natural plant based all purpose cleaner and also used rubbing alcohol and water. If your cork isn’t excessively worn, these can help make it look fresh again.

Traditional Penholder (Jpen and traditional Cpen- both TPB) is a more challenging way to play, requiring more effort on several levels. Those of us who choose to play this way know how satisfying traditional penholder shots can be 😀

Love your comments about Jpen Hinoki blades especially your analogy with Kyudo. A quality single ply Hinoki blade, like those from Darker, is a precision instrument that indeed contributes to the sublime feeling that’s experienced when we’re playing table tennis.

We have to work a little harder as penholders especially though of us who play TPB. But there’s a special satisfaction we have with our strokes relative to our grip And penhold players add an an extra bit of variety and interest in our sport.
