Portland Paddlers sweeping without Kang Dong Soo no less. Kou Lei played pretty well for LA. Min Hyeok Kim could not effectively return his reverse pendulum to the forehand.
  10. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Why put down Sabine's game? She's exceeded everyone's expectations including yours, or have the goal posts moved? I mean come on... she got to TOP 20 in the world which includes a win over Chen Xingtong at the 2025 European Smash. Miyu Nagasaki is a very strong player. No shame in losing to her.

Although Mima and Hina are struggling, they are still the 2nd and 3rd highest ranked Japanese women. We'll have to wait and see how Miu performs at SC Doha, but she did not look good against Sakura Yokoi yesterday. It is contingent upon the challengers to overtake Mima/Hina which won't be so...

This is the 2nd time Hirano and Yokoi met this season with Yokoi winning 3-2 the first time and 3-0 this time. In Chinese Super League, Miu can play relatively carefree with SYS, Kuai Man, and Qin Yuxuan as teammates to back her. Here, she's the captain so there's a lot more pressure.
  19. WTT Champions Doha 2026 Jan 7-11

Another solid win for Miyu Nagasaki. With the golden generation struggling, it'll be interesting to see if Miyu can grab an Olympic spot. Good start to 2026 for her.
