  1. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

Tell me there isn't really an AK47 rubber...
  2. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

Oh yeah, about that W968. I should probably change that but I don't see how. When I signed up it required me to put something and I just chose whatever I saw on the first post I looked at. I have no idea what a W968 even is, but I'm pretty sure I don't have one. :) In ignorance, Desertman
  3. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

I used to be into video games but I quickly gravitated toward one or two and had no interest in the rest. So different strokes I guess
  4. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

I can see it as a fun diversion for people who already largely know what works for them, or people with money to burn and nothing better to do, or pros looking for that tiny extra edge. But I see threads here and elsewhere where people ask which rubbers to use for this or that specific purpose...
  5. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

I'm dumbfounded by the need to try so many rubbers. Or maybe I'm just dumb.
  6. Request for advice for heavy players and wide feet

So do the 11, which is what I bought. But thee're just EE, I'd prefer EEEE and a shoe that is actually shaped like a foot. I've yet to see a foot that is pointed in front like 99% of shoes.
  7. Request for advice for heavy players and wide feet

My Asics EE wides arrived and they seem OK, fitwise. I don't consider them terribly wide so we'll have to see how my feet feel after an hour or two of play
  8. Awkward state of boosting

I'm sorry you are struggling to follow. In post #7 I said boosting just seems no better than PEDs [in this or any other sport]. Then in a curious twist of logic someone said as long as something is available to everyone, it's fair, to which I replied with the response that has confused you
  9. Awkward state of boosting

I never said it was, so I have no answer for you. As I said, as a recent returnee it all seems rather unfortunate and distasteful
  10. Awkward state of boosting

Not all people are dumb enough to risk their health or reputation for better performance, and they rightfully believe they shouldn't have to compete against those who do. It's called sportsmanship, and its a disappearing ethic in the age of winning and money is everything.
  11. Awkward state of boosting

Someone else can probably answer that better than me. As a recent returner to the sport I'm still in the stage of initial shock and revulsion that this is even an issue in TT. Maybe I'll eventually come around and see it all as OK, but I hope not.
  12. Awkward state of boosting

I'd be happy to. I have no filter when it comes to ethics and sportsmanship. :D.
  13. Awkward state of boosting

Right. It's got nothing at all to do with giving an unfair advantage, Mark McGuire
  14. Awkward state of boosting

As a person returning to the sport after many years away, I find the whole idea of boosting repulsive. I missed most of the era of speed glue, so I don't miss what I guess many players are trying to recreate by boosting. With that admitted inexperience and naivete as a backdrop, boosting just...
  15. the gas stovetop method of fossilized rubber removal

I Googled up the best ways to remove old hard rubber and used the acetone pick-and-pick-and-scrape method to remove this 30-40 year old rubber. Took an hour on the red side, but was starting to remove wood fibers that were wet with acetone so it was less than perfect. Plus I'm not a patient man...
  16. Request for advice for heavy players and wide feet

I have been researching this for a couple weeks myself. I don't really have wide feet but I need a wide toebox due to wonky forefoot problems, so that any pressure on my toes is very problematic. I have serious doubts I'll find anything that will make my feet happy in a court shoe but I ordered...
