  1. Is 10 weeks with a new blade long enough to start getting adjusted to it?

believe it or not, it is possible. I was playing with Hurricane Ma Long 5 and had andro Rasanter C53 on FH and andro Nuzn50 on BH. loved the C53 so much I said I will put two of those on the blade. did that and the blade became this unresponsive, feelingless, dead beautiful piece of wood.
  2. Is 10 weeks with a new blade long enough to start getting adjusted to it?

didn’t read all the comments but if I learned anything in past few years after getting back to table tennis is this. one of my “jobs” in the club is to test equipment. also one of my hobbies. so I often buy or get new blades and rubbers and test them so I can recommend them (or not) to our...
  3. Technique discussion fh topspin

well … I always believed you have to think outside of the box … with Falck and Truls, he most definitely did. 😉
  4. Technique discussion fh topspin

yeah, but you laid the foundation which is a very important part of table tennis ... ;) this is a part where I struggle a lot as a coach, but can work with kids that already have some basics and then work from then on. but I can tell you - if basics are off - it is sooooo much more work ... so...
  5. Technique discussion fh topspin

everybody talking about arm, shoulder, elbow, but no one touches the footwork!? good footwork is foundation. no footwork no table tennis. you can have perfect stroke technique but without the legs support, it’s not worth much. and I see this all over the junior categories - great arm...
  6. Struggling to find the right racket (offensive player)

ok, so you have some table tennis in your hands and not so old, ok. so, for starters - try to go in steps. first try to change one component - either blade or rubbers. not everything. people here already told you that. so, rubbers, I would suggest andro Rasanter C53. it is a very nice rubber...
  7. Struggling to find the right racket (offensive player)

three questions: - how old are you - how long are you playing - are you being coached or self trained
  8. NEW Stiga Helix Hybrid ?

I don’t think sticky and lively go together with table tennis rubbers. 🤪🙈
  9. New Blade: Tibhar Darko Infinity Carbon

but this is way more different than Darko's version - this one not only has carbon layers positioned differently, but also different layers of outer wood veneers. this should be an interesting blade to try. and as far as I know myself, I would prefer BH side to actually be FH and vice-versa. I...
  10. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

yes, HAL has medium / mid-low arc ... but it has so much dwell that you really get a feeling like it has a very high throw. I couldn't play with D05 on HAL - it was just too much dwell. I made the stroke and at the end of the stroke I still had a feeling the ball is on the blade, if you...
  11. Need help on Backhand rubber.

I would go with Rakza 7 ... better a bit slow than too fast and not being able to control, I guess. it's been a while since I played with R7 on BH, I did like it, but I recently really liked Hammond Z2 on BH, maybe you could give it a try, but if you say R7H was too much, then Hammon might be...
  12. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

I tried HL5 with several rubbers: - Hurricane 8 - Nittaku Hurricane 3 (basically provincial version) - Hammond Z2 - Dignics09c - Rasanter C53 - Nuzn50 - Rakza Z blade felt kind of numb with both Hurricanes (and I used them on HAL and TMXi previously, where they were really good). Nuzn50 and...
  13. Past Innerforce users - what did you move to and why?

Hammond is ... different, yes. good, but different. I like it on the backhand, a lot. it gives a bit firmer feel than some other 50 hardness rubbers but it's still a good feeling rubber. like I said, different to what I am used to, but nice. currently, I set up Viscaria with Rasanter C53 FH and...
  14. SDC Handmade Blades

whoa, this must be a delight to play with, must have a very good feel for the ball!! and this one must be a space rocket, we probably need a new, higher then OFF section to put this one in :P
  15. Past Innerforce users - what did you move to and why?

I've been back and forth with inner and outer blades ... and someone said innerblades are not for mid distance? some of them definitely are! first I had "extra" outer - Axelo - it reminded me of my competition days 25 years ago but had to accept it was "a little bit too fast" then had 7-ply...
  16. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

I found that in order to make HAL work at its best, rubber should be 50+ hardness. softer rubbers are either catapulty as hell or mushy as hell. btw - how’s R7H - been eyeing it for a while now, waiting for the rubber to come in stock. would love to try it on Donic Waldner Gold Edition and test...
  17. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

for me, it was actually the best possible pairing. good speed, good control, best feel of all the rubbers I tried (J&H C55, Rakza Z & Z EH, Vega X, Donic C2, a whole bunch of Hurricanes …). played it on both sides. that’s how much I liked it.
  18. Suitable rubber for BH ?

I had MX-P 50 on BH for quite some time. it's amazing when you are on power, when you are leaning on the ball aggressively, but if you want to play "gently" you really have to be careful as ball then tends to think it's on a mission to the Moon. 🤪
  19. Suitable rubber for BH ?

you could try Hurricane 8 Soft, I played with Mid on forehand, but here and there I tried it on BH and was quite good, actually. maybe even Hurricane 8-80, I had Hurricane 9 which has the 80 sponge and it was a nice rubber, except really heavy (58g cut).
