  1. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

If I had to guess right now, Carolina.
  2. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

Insane illegal toss then completely hide the ball contact with your head. Lets go Lebesson! Seriously, why even have service rules in the first place?
  3. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT)

With the way Lebesson serves, why even have service rules at all?
  4. How to qualify for bundesliga divisions 1 or 2

I am pretty sure there are people around here who know a bit about what MLTT is paying. I am also pretty sure they have been asked not to talk about it publicly. :)
  5. My new training schedule

Every single professional player (on a province team or the CNT) in China practices their serve for 1 hour either every day or 6 days a week. Have whomever is your head coach to design drills to do with the robot that compliment whatever you are working on in the evenings. 23 hours a week is...
  6. Is it about equipment or playing style?!!!

The absolute #1 thing to determine how good a player will be is how young they can start with good practice partners and coaches. Look at the LeBrun brothers, the Harimotos, the Matsushimas, etc. They all had family members who could train and coach them from a very young age. There are...
  7. I just created a Youtube channel on my journey to pro!

You have 10 hours of private lessons a week? Nice! If you can find a way to play more it would be very helpful. Every professional player from China who has trained at the club I am at has said they played 6-8 hours a day, 6-7 days a week as a kid. With that being said, I would strongly...
  8. Only 1 coach or hire more coaches?

If I were you, I would find a coach who can actually help you improve and stick with that one coach. Each coach has their own ideas and you might not know which path to follow if different coaches tell you different things. The coaches might get upset with you because you are listening to...
  9. From what level on does the right "modern" style matter?

Agree 100% with NextLevel. A player could get away with a weak backhand ages ago. Now after serving if you have a weak backhand, the receiver can cause you massive trouble with a banana flick if they want to. It is physically impossible to cover the table entirely with the forehand these days.
  10. Marty Supreme table tennis film

Reisman was not like Mauser, at least with the interactions I had with him. He was definitely an eccentric character and he might try to win money playing, but he seemed like a nice guy. He was also liked by quite a few other players in the area who had good things to say about him.
  11. Is it okay to let anger out?

For me, during practice you can act like an idiot and be angry to some extent. Just direct it towards yourself and not towards anyone else. Getting mad at your practice partner and showing it is not acceptable. Getting mad during a tournament and showing it is also not acceptable.
  12. Rating progress evaluation

I have no idea what the rating system of your country means skillwise. However, if you didn't start playing seriously before age 9, and you aren't training 6-8 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, you (like 99.999% of the world) are playing for fun. So the only way to answer your question is: Are you...
  13. I hope Tony returns

What? Tony was banned? Not a good move IMHO.
  14. Most optimal playstyle/strategy to master

Since this style is forehand dominant, it is better to do a pendulum serve from your backhand corner. If you serve from the backhand side with a backhand serve or from the middle or forehand with a forehand/pendulum serve, you are going to have to run way way way too much to loop the return...
  15. Most optimal playstyle/strategy to master

    1) Develop a good serve and forehand 2) Loop anything long with your forehand 3) Keep any short serve short when returning 4) Block with the backhand The pros to this style are that you can beat up to 2200 level quickly this way. The cons however are the following: 1) It is exhausting and...
  16. Short Documentary about Match Fixing in Amateur Table Tennis

I am not sure if people gamble on ITTF/WTT games. However, on lower level games, I would highly recommend not gambling on them. That is all I will say on the matter.
  17. I'm being bullied at my club.

Welcome to the world of table tennis! I have played a lot of sports and table tennis has by far the most negative people as a percentage. They are a lot of great people in the sport but for some weird reason table tennis attracts unpleasant and somewhat insane people. Before I went to China...
  18. Sleeping after a late TT session

When I trained in China, I was able to maintain a great sleeping schedule. While training in America, my sleep schedule was terrible. Practice in China ended at 4pm at the latest. In America practice might end at 10pm and I am up all night. I wish there were some sort of simple solution...
  19. What makes someone go from 1800 to 2000 usatt

You just need to play more. Usually the difference between a 2000 and 1800 player is that the higher rated player's serve and serve return is better. They also make their 1st attack more frequently. However, knowing about YOUR background, quit worrying about your rating and play as much as...
  20. NextLevel's Thoughts on Table Tennis: I like to write about Table Tennis

As far as people who would be in the mix for GOAT of the modern era, I would say Ma Long, WLQ, ZJK and Waldner. Out of those, I would say Ma Long would be the best choice for GOAT. I dismiss head to heard arguments as if player A can beat player B but player A can beat 99 other players and...
