  1. What do your rubbers look like when you feel they need to be replaced?

It does looks used and I mean it in a good way. I would say that when to change rubbers is a personal preference. You can try out one approach though - When my rubbers get a bit worn out and have an itch to try a new one, I don't retire the old ones completely but I use it for my practice...
  2. What do your rubbers look like when you feel they need to be replaced?

With new generation rubbers, I start noticing the worn out patch very soon. I tried Andro Rasanter C48 and within 2 months I can see that a discoloration where the ball contacts the rubber when I hit my topspins. Not to say that C48 has any issues but in general hybrid rubbers topsheet wears out...
  3. What new blades should I buy to pair with both sides D09C? (EJ)

You will need one 5 ply all wood , one 7 ply all wood, one out Carbon Tamca 5000, one outer ALC, one inner ALC, one outer ZLC, one inner ZLC, then there are super ALCs and ZLCs. Then Aramid-carbon, Dyneema carbon, Hexa carbon offerings which you can try with D09. However, from my personal...
  4. Disappointed on myself

If you recorded your match then it would be easier, but if not then you can just replay your match mentally and write down the most frustrating things/situations in the matches? Categorize this on - 1. When you are doing serves - what happened? 2. When you receive serve what happened? 3...
  5. Which part of body use is more important when doing forehand topspin?

How about trying the rule of elimination ;) - "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable must be the truth." So try with what you think cannot be used in Forehand topspin.
  6. How do I improve my backhand? (closed)

Ok, here is another perspective. In Liam's Masterclass on TTD Academy he specifically mentions that he has his blade angle more open. :). And that is the whole point, if we (I mean all of us) keep looking at different tutorials then we will never find a foundation to build our stroke mechanics.
  7. How do I improve my backhand? (closed)

Do you watch too many backhand tutorials on YouTube or try to copy any Fan Zhendongs, Darkos, Hugos etc. of the different realm? I think it comes with the baggage that when we desperately want to improve we watch more and more just so that we get out of our misery as soon as possible. It seems...
  8. ❓What Is Your Setup, and WHY?

Butterfly Blade - preferably outer ALC, but can play with inner ALC as well. I choose butterfly as it seems to be most balanced (I am not 100% comfortable with head heavy blades) after putting rubbers and Butterfly is easier to sell/trade in case you want to. Rubbers - I try to play with medium...
  9. Thoughts on Coach EmRatThich?

Very true! The one thing which my late coach said to me is that you cannot allow more than one person to add salt/spice to the dish - meaning don't learn from multiple sources simultaneously. I think that was one of the profound sayings from him.
  10. I TESTED MA LONG’S ACTUAL TABLE TENNIS BAT!

Hi Dan, Thanks for the amazing video. Just being in the presence of such high achievers is an experience which cannot be put into words. You are blessed my friend. Thanks, KM1976
  11. Thoughts on Coach EmRatThich?

There are lots of channels on YouTube and Coach EmratThich's channel is one of them. When I was too much behind the secret sauce, I thought that somewhere I will stumble upon some gems which will make me a table tennis star. Later, with age, grey hairs and hopefully some wisdom, I realized that...
  12. Stepping away from carbon.

I too liked C1 on Forehand.
  13. What Joola blade/rubbers is Liam Pitchford using now?

Absolutely correct. And the way a Pro understands the equipment feel is far far better than how a hobby player like me judges it. It comes to practicing with the same setup again and again for countless number of hours. For me, I really cannot point out the differences which are way too...
  14. Diluting Glue with water

Yes, it can be diluted. However, you need to be careful on the quantity of water which you are putting into it. I have done this in the past when my Revolution No. 3 glue started to thicken up too much. Also, check for the decoloration of the glue before diluting. I had another bottle which was...
  15. Thoughts on Vega X ?

I have tried Vega X on both Forehand and Backhand. It is a quite a good rubber, and at this price point it would be a good choice. It lasted close to 4 months for me with 8-10 hours/week of training/games. For me, I like to feel the rubber bite on the ball and personally, I felt that there are...
  16. [UPDATED] For Sale - Xiom Blade - Stradivarius FL

Happy New Year. These blades are still available.
  17. Would you consider a tt video coach?

I started improving faster when I stopped learning from everyone.
  18. Best carbon blade for stepping up from wood

If you want the feel, then Donic Waldner Senso Carbon is a very good and relatively cheap option. There are plenty of other blades which can be considered. I recommend this one, as I have used Donic Waldner Senso Ultra Carbon as my main blade for close to 9 years.
