  1. I want opinions on my chances of pro

He was 2350 in 2006 and then when he returned in 2008 continued to play around a 2350 to 2400 level for the next 17 years until now in 2025. One does not improve from 2350 to 2600+ within less than a two year span and then suddenly go to college and quit and then come back and fall down to a...

Right in front their face too, pretty impressive
  3. I want opinions on my chances of pro

As someone said earlier, if his goal is 2400+ in the next 3 years (by age 15), he really should be at 2100 or 2200 now. If he's not there in the next year when he's 13, the chances of hitting that goal by 15 become near zero.
  4. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

Don't care enough to do a deep analysis but seems like Yoshiyama was completely controlling the points with short receives up through game 4, so Hwan Bae started serving half long to long forehand and wide angle backhand to prevent this, Yoshiyama tried a few flips over the table unsuccessfully...
  5. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

    What about Huang Yu Jie?

I think you may be overthinking it but if it feels like it works for you then that's great. A lot just depends on the variable that is standing on the other side of the table and how you communicate your training goals to them (if they are even willing to cooperate in the first place).
  7. Prithika Pavade signs long-term sponsorship deal with GEWO

Agreed, more broadly it wasn't a dig at Pavade but that many sponsorship deals, men's deals included, are losing battles for the sponsors from a simple profit standpoint. ESN companies lately seem to clearly have a bigger pot of money to throw at players and are doing so accordingly, probably...
  8. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

When you say all others do you mean Timo and Dima? From what I've heard from many, Duda's work ethic is unmatched.
  9. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

And now that missed call costs them the match
  10. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

Wild point at 2-1 11-10 of Miwa/Odo vs Cheng I Ching/Huang Yu Jie. Ball hits the edge of HYJ's paddle resulting in a lob that almost spins back to their side of the table. Odo smashes it while also clearly knocking the net assembly and table while the ball was technically still in play. Should...
  11. Prithika Pavade signs long-term sponsorship deal with GEWO

Victas is branded Japanese but made in Germany for the most part. Same for Stiga and Xiom as being branded Swedish and Korean. So they really fall into the ESN bucket just as much as the other ESN companies you mentioned.
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Maybe but I think you are assuming that when using slower equipment that necessarily means your opponents returns will always come back slower, and I don't think that is the case unless your opponent cooperates and plays exactly on the terms that you want them to.
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

So someone can learn to cope with a counterloop but they can't learn to cope with a block that comes back slightly faster than normal? Who said anything about not actually wanting to get better?
  14. Prithika Pavade signs long-term sponsorship deal with GEWO

A lot comes down to the deal indeed but I'll leave it at that I find it hard to see how any European women or female French talent becomes a profitable investment, unless the goal is not profit but to steal away some market share in France from Tibhar which I also don't see this deal accomplishing.
  15. Prithika Pavade signs long-term sponsorship deal with GEWO

Seems like European companies are signing people just to sign people, I see zero value in signing a player of this caliber unless they think its going to help with the French market...but don't think it would
  16. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

Duda 3-0 Huang Yan Cheng Uda 3-2 Meissner after being 2-0 up Chang Yu-An 3-0 Bertelsmeier
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I assumed you were referring to matchplay. In practice, I generally don't think the speed differences between equipment are so drastic that your partner can't quickly adjust and block the ball back given that you are hitting to one spot, but that could be situation dependent.
