  1. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

Per spinsight measurements my spin (and speed) still have a lot of room to increase after I get the cracking sound, which is at ~120's RPS, while my max is in the 140's against block. My opponents certainly feel the difference as well. Look, your points are not new at all, it's been debated on...
  2. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

Generally they don't shrink, they actually expand, at least when I boost it. When I reglue my H3, even when I don't reboost, I always need to cut off an extra rim of rubber. Most other rubbers shrink though, even D09c. When I reglue D09c, which I don't boost, there's always a rim of blade...
  3. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

Doesn't really make sense how I would bottom out blue sponge H3N and D09c but not D05 and DNA Pro.
  4. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

There sure is a way. When I tried I think a DNA Pro on a W968, no matter how hard I looped I could not reproduce the characteristic cracking sound and the feeling of flex. Incidentally, and this was entirely unexpected, I just experienced the same thing last night when I tried out the D05 on...
  5. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

I've found D09c to work fairly well, though I think it works a bit better with the Hurricane Wang/Q968. DNA Platinum series reportedly works fairly well as well, though like all ESN rubbers durability may be a concern. With that said, if you're to really take advantage of HL5 variants you should...
  6. Does Hl5 need to use the hurricane 3?

No, but some equipment may complement it a bit better. In general, something that's not too catapult-y works better, at least on FH, as most rubbers with significant catapult would activate before the blade does, and then you can get to a situation where no matter how hard you loop you never...
  7. Current meta in TT serve receive: just bh everything.

That's how he lost though. BH flicks are weak against dead serves or when caught by long serves, and at critical junctures WCQ served half-long and long dead serves to him which he tried to add too much quality and flicked out. He did that 3 times in game 5 alone.

Haven't tried pushes, but I don't serve well enough to make comparisons as there's just too much difference in spin from serve to serve with the same racket.
  9. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

You know, LJK may have helped FZD just as much as he did the CNT. If China had lost I bet a lot of fans would've turned on FZD for not helping the team out.
  10. Lin Shidong loses again in a match against Sweden

LJK actually looks slimmer. If he's put on weight it must've been between his legs :ROFLMAO:

The biggest difference I've seen so far is maybe like ~5% between freshly boosted H3 and a dead sheet of H3 in terms of spin. Otherwise with all sorts of combos the difference has been neglible at the top end. With some equipment it's easier to reach a higher level of speed/spin, but once I...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Guys, I think I've finally figured it all out. FH and BH, I think I can play the way I want now! On the FH side the main missing piece appears to be avoiding excessive backswing, especially with the arm. This allows me to always catch the ball a bit in front of the body and before the ball...
  13. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

Just look at the bracket, it has all the time info.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Oh yea, I have the same issue. It took me many months to start remembering to loop with my BH, and that's with significant focus on using my BH loop in game situations. I've noticed that there's no point in focusing on technique during game situations, things happen too fast for you to remember...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Ha, tell me about it! It always feels like 2 steps forward 1 step back. Just today, I felt that my BH went back to an overly brushy stroke after spending the past couple of weeks focusing more on improving my FH. At least it was fairly quick to switch it back. FH though is still an ongoing...
  16. hitting net a lot after boosting hurricane 3

After boosting it needs to be played for a bit to be broken in. It plays like trash before that happens.
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

As always, I'm working on a boatload of things. My coach says that my BH technique is now better than my FH technique, especially when I'm made to move, so I'm redoubling my efforts to perfect my FH technique. Main things are: 1) Do NOT backswing with the arm or the body, backswing with my...
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That makes sense, perhaps I was just overdoing it. I've still played a good amount the past couple of days, but just taking it a bit easier, and doing my typical more intensive self-care regimen for whenever I have a minor injury. Seems to be working pretty well, it barely hurts now even when...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Mine's kinda weird, it's over the medial epicondyle, which would be golfer's elbow. The TT motion that's more similar to the trailing arm of a golf swing would be FH, but my practice has been much more focused on the BH. Maybe the issue is more that I'm just gripping more tightly after my...
  20. Fang Bo to represent Kazakhstan in June for WTT events

He'll need a lot of training though. I think he recently played and streamed a match against Yu Heyi and he lost 4-2. Granted Yu did beat LJK and pushed FZD to 5 games in the Chinese national games.
