  1. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

WCQ is one lucky bstd lol, No wonder he's been playing out of his mind in the last three years, mostly.
  2. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Hope ML retires after the Olympics. XP has fallen into a trough in the last 2 years, maybe intensive personal coaching is what he needs instead of regular team drills and coordination. But there's high likelihood that he'll still play second fiddle to one of the new top 5 players. 5 coaches for...
  3. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Was that Cui Qinglei coaching LSD Vs AJH?? Is he part of the roster of national coaches now??
  4. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Yeah Truls too, I missed him, he's got a sizable chance too. It'll be nice for him to show out in Singapore because he hasn't really made World TT news much since 2021, except for European Continental Events of course.
  5. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

That was his first major strike, He was lucky that ML covered his butt. 2021 Tokyo was the ultimate crime given his age. I bet if they'd won that final, Xu Xin would have played till Paris. He was already prepping with Shasha in one or two tournaments ( maybe internal, not sure).
  6. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

A sole WCQ being the only CNT player in the bottom half of the Ro32 draw offers many exciting possibilities and permutations. I can't remember the last time China had one male player in the Ro32 draw in the bottom half of a major tourney, and that player reached the final(Zeio?).There's a big...
  7. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Does Akula use the same kinda pips combination as Bartra??
  8. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

It's their first time meeting such a unique pair, so I think we can cut them some slack.
  9. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

It's the JNT internal order from the top BRUH!! They have "malign influence" on proceedings.
  10. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Yep, In the olden days especially in a hypothetical situation where Sreeja is part of the world's elite, they would have retained a blocker on the team to keep her in check. But these days where everyone is an attacking shakehander, resources are limited, and the competition to climb up the...
  11. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

I watched a bit of the draw ceremony and people in the live stream were quite critical about the choices and the objectives of the draw. Why are some players in the top 20 meeting one another in the first round, and in the same vein, some qualifiers are drawn to face one another. Is this some...
  12. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

The draw is so nasty So many top players meeting themselves in the first or second round. It's prime hunting ground for upsets, because there's zero margin for error.
  13. Why did China not field Wang Manyu after she saved them against India?

The consequences of this may not be pretty. Imagine this circular being passed around the time when Xu Xin was world no 1 & a young Fan was world number 2. I think the order doesn't take nuance and dynamism into consideration. Thank you for the valuable info.
  14. With ML era ending, who are the top Chinese upcoming players?

I think with Ma Long gone, it's a big chance for a new growth arc for the rest of the guys below his ranking in the CNT top 10. There's actually a good chance for the other guys like LJK and LGY to rise up to possible No 2 in the team. WCQ doesn't have a "domineering" record against them, LSD...
  15. Why did China not field Wang Manyu after she saved them against India?

Nice to see confirmation that it was a directive from the top to establish selection criteria for Olympic sports. Because I've heard different theories ranging from Ma Lin's personal preferences to WTTC placement to team politics. Everything seems clear now. But Zeio is right that this...
  16. Why did China not field Wang Manyu after she saved them against India?

That was WMY personal coach and ZJK's personal coach during his heydays, so he was just being factual. The big goal has always the Olympics and Manyu hasn't been able to establish herself as prime candidate for the Olympics over 2 years later, so sobering news for her, I guess.
  17. Everything about WCQ

I think he doesn't have anything out of the ordinary that should crucify him. It's just Fan wars, and people reacting to someone finally breaking the Ma-Fan duopoly and even looking like he might surpass Fan in the long run. So many fans have a soft spot for Fan for all the years of being...
  18. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Well, as long as the reserve player is not gonna participate, then LSD can be chosen. But there's always a possibility that ML gets injured or somebody has a knee strain so I think LJK will get it.
  19. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Even Liu Shiwen was there dressed in the Chairman esque attire. I think they were integrated into official/ promotional capacities in 2022. I'm seeing a trend of all champions of the team having some role in the team after they retire, sorta like a stake in the team too.
  20. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Yeah he's struggling to read the serves, a lot of the receives are not even long, they're half long but they come off the table and in Ma Long like fashion, WCQ's ready to pounce on it with little regard to the backspin. Also on Felix's serves, he found it difficult to combat the Chiquita. In...
