  1. WTT 2026 ELO rankings question

instead of doing manually, could you parse the result page and extract the data and enter it programmatically ?
  2. I measured the rebound speed of Yinhe Mars 3 vs. Butterfly Flextra on a Yinhe N10 blade($50 setup)

Hi everyone, We wanted to see how two entry-level rubbers behave on a standard neutral blade (Yinhe N10). Specifically, we wanted to check if they are linear or if they have distinct "gears" at this price point. We used a robot to feed balls at Low Speed (~13km/h) and Mid Speed (~21km/h) and...
  3. Side-by-side comparison: Boosted vs Stock DHS Hurricane (Stationary Paddle)

Hi everyone, I recently decided to run a small experiment to visually compare the rebound speed between a factory-stock DHS Hurricane 3 and a boosted version. I know this is a topic that gets discussed a lot, but I wanted to actually see the difference in "exit velocity" without the variable of...
  4. Visualizing the Trajectory Difference: Butterfly Zyre 03 vs. Dignics 09c

ok, what do you think of the earlier video where we put the numbers, I am trying to understand if those make sense to you or even that would be flawed ? this is something not done earlier so we know that we are going to fail a lot before we get to the meaningful numbers. spin and speed numbers
  5. Visualizing the Trajectory Difference: Butterfly Zyre 03 vs. Dignics 09c

to be fair no one has attempted this before, collecting data in this scenario is messy, each video I change one small thing. it might take some time but we are confident that the process will get better over time, at this point what is available is someone hitting a ball and claiming it is fast...
  6. Visualizing the Trajectory Difference: Butterfly Zyre 03 vs. Dignics 09c

In this video, we tracked the specific arc and landing zones of the Zyre 03 compared to the Dignics 09c (same blade, same stroke). The visual markings really highlight how the flight path changes. For those who have played with Zyre 03: Does this visual match the "feeling" you get at the table...
  7. Zyre 03 (2.7mm) vs Dignics 09c - Speed & Spin Test (Data Analysis) - Part 1

True, I am looking at finding someone with that combination so that I can borrow it for testing.
  8. Zyre 03 (2.7mm) vs Dignics 09c - Speed & Spin Test (Data Analysis) - Part 1

There will be some variance but I am thinking if I hit say a few topspin with zyre and then repeat it with dignics 09c then on an average we should get some objective data. If this works then I can ask other players to do the same and then we get some valid numbers thinking of something like this
  9. Zyre 03 (2.7mm) vs Dignics 09c - Speed & Spin Test (Data Analysis) - Part 1

There are different ways to look at data, one is without any external force, this is for that. I am planning to do some with me playing topspin with both and collecting information on the spin and speed which will be another set of data
  10. Zyre 03 (2.7mm) vs Dignics 09c - Speed & Spin Test (Data Analysis) - Part 1

true, I want to do that but I will have to either buy a D05 or find someone who uses that combination and borrow it for testing
  11. Zyre 03 (2.7mm) vs Dignics 09c - Speed & Spin Test (Data Analysis) - Part 1

We set up a controlled lab test to measure the actual Input vs. Output energy of the rubber. Instead of just hitting and guessing, we calculated the incoming ball speed/spin and measured exactly what the ball looks like leaving the racket. The Setup: Blade: Butterfly Viscaria Super ALC Red...
  12. Topspin vs Block: Slow-Motion Speed & Spin Test

We ran a small test to see what really happens during a topspin–block rally. Recorded everything in slow motion and measured the ball’s speed and spin at different points: after the topspin leaves the attacker’s racket just before reaching the blocker after the bounce after the block...
  13. How a table tennis rubber looks after cleaning (compared to before)

Did a follow-up set of photos after cleaning the same rubber from the earlier post. This time, you can clearly see how the surface looks without as much dust as earlier- the middle area still shows wear, but the texture is more even and the small dust spots are lesser.
  14. How a used table tennis rubber looks from far vs up close (before cleaning)

Took a few photos of a used rubber today. From far and when zoomed in, you can see the dust spots and the worn-out part of the rubber in the middle, compared to the edges. Planning to do another set of photos after cleaning to see how much difference it actually makes in texture and appearance.
  15. Self-Resetting Flip Pad for Table Tennis Training – Thoughts?

Interesting idea , I don't know about airtag features but it is a bit expensive, the target price I am looking us around USD 20 for this
  16. Self-Resetting Flip Pad for Table Tennis Training – Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback, this is just a variation but I will have to rethink this a bit. We already have a pad that is connected to the robot and is flat with the lights but does not have a counter, maybe adding a counter to that and making it standalone and integrating with the robot might be a...
  17. Self-Resetting Flip Pad for Table Tennis Training – Thoughts?

The target audience is kids, thinking of gamifying the training
  18. Self-Resetting Flip Pad for Table Tennis Training – Thoughts?

Hi all, We’re experimenting with a new training tool and would love your thoughts. It’s called the PongFox Flip Pad Auto — a self-resetting target that flips back up automatically after being hit. It also tracks how many times you hit it, which makes it useful for building accuracy and...
  19. Modular Recycling Net – Works with Any Table Tennis Robot & Multiball Training!

We are experimenting with a modular table tennis recycling net that can be used with any robot that doesn’t come with a catch net and recycling system. It’s also designed for multiball training, making it useful for coaches feeding drills manually. We’re still in the development phase, but...
