  1. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

Is Olympics a race of age comparison, or a race to win. What's the Chinese precedence btw? Eliminating all risks. Why should be CNT care about making Ma Long feel special long after he has retired or any body else? The coaches and the players there have one job - to win. And about the oldest ...
  2. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

Ma Long is playing till 35(at least) because his younger team mates have just matured enough to handle the risk, Still the risk is enormous. You really think the CNT can't tell FZD and WCQ to stay till 34/35 if they don't find new players that'll better them OR if they're the only ones that can...
  3. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

LJK and LGY are still gonna be here till LA 2028 at least, they have to surmount them first. I'm mentioning them because *Lin Shidong so I assume you're talking about World Table Tennis in general, I don't think LSD is smelling Olympics till 2032, because FZD and WCQ will be here for the next...
  4. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

I think he's a good contender for it, I'll like to see him meet FZD in another high stakes final before that though. The French support will be incredible; if Felix keeps his form, I believe he'll go very far. As long as he doesn't go down 2-0, he may be able to crack one of the Chinese since...
  5. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

Felix is more likely to win in the Olympics, and do better over the course of their careers. His style is cleaner and his tactics are well constructed. Alexis is more brawny with sneaky serves, once his serves are neutralized it's tough for him.
  6. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

The complaints that professional players, "few Asian countries" have given over the past few years, and that some other forum users here have mentioned ad nauseum is that WTT isn't managing the events very well, Participation ( Registration, Flights and upkeep) are now more expensive than the...
  7. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

There's no upside for you to explain, because your rationalisations are bogus at best. Onus of proof is on those claiming there's something happening. Was ITTF ( with Shahara and others) a beacon of morality that Sweden and others were able to keep holding high quality tourneys every year but...
  8. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

Please table what you have heard/read, and explicate how the "professionalisation" of TT enables a 2600$ gdp per capita India host a Star Contender event, but turns a 61,000$ gdp per capita Sweden into a pauper. How can Muscat, Antalya, Almaty host contenders but Sweden are blocked? When has...
  9. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

How is India able to host a Star Contender( for a relative newcomer, that's amazing), and that's 250,000k dollars btw, but Sweden is Oh so Hurt by the big bad WTT?? Oh, India and Liu Guoliang are best friends now? Or India is this rich utopia compared to Sweden?? Let's call a spade a spade.
  10. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

ITTF sold the commercial rights to WTT, the whole infrastructure of table tennis remains the same besides the commercialisation. Dainton and co are still the ones making the "WTT" schedule. They're still the ones presenting the trophies at the biggest events and all that, So I don't know what...
  11. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

Cool. ITTF Swedish Open had a prize money of 170,000 dollars. Guess how much is WTT Feeder prize? 20,000 dollars. ITTF Sweden was last held in 2019. It's not like this was 10 years ago, In case COVID is the next thing to blame, COVID affected China worst. Sweden president/NA still is among the...
  12. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

How many times did he use the shovel serves?? He rarely used it. Lin GY lost that match because he was passive. It was the same pendulum serves they were dishing out.
  13. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

Germany and Japan must be so corrupt then to be hosting the World Cup and the Champions Frankfurt.
  14. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

Felix would have to use Wang Hao's retired bat to reach his true dragon level.
  15. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

Oh, hard to rationalize away this one 😭😅, that end was horrible, logrange wasn't wrong at all in his assessment of the match Vs the Koreans. I think the pressure probably got to Hari's head too but c'mon. Hayata be like: " When do you start to lead this group" 😟
  16. 19th Asian Games Hangzhou

This was supposed to be on WTT STC Lanzhou 😅
  17. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

CCTV stream of LGY vs TH match??
  18. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

I've got Asia vpn but it's not helping.
  19. WTT Star Contender Lanzhou 2023

I agree LSD still has a long way to go on bh, he has a flashy "bat the ball away" shot alright, but apart from that in terms of rhythm and everything you mentioned, he's worse. He also doesn't turn the corner much. And very error prone on defense too, a bit quite like FZD.
  20. 19th Asian Games Hangzhou

It's not like CNT can't play bang bang close to the table tennis, they can do it; it's literally how the women play. I think the guys just prefer the mid range because it allows full strokes, power and some room for error.
